Established by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu under Act No.9 of 2005, Tamil Nadu Sports University (TNPESU) is a unique and the first of its kind University and act as an affiliating University, exclusively for Physical Education and Sports.

At postgraduate level, Directorate of Distance Education Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University offers MBA, M.Sc., and M.Sc. (LE) courses in various specialization. The duration of MBA and M.Sc. programs offered in distance mode at postgraduate level is 2 years except for M.Sc. (LE) which is a 1-year course.
Admission to MBA is merit-based and the Candidate who has completed 10+2+3 from a recognized University with the least aggregate of 50% marks are eligible for admission.
Admission to MSc. and M.Sc(LE) program is also merit-based and candidates with a 10+2+3 degree from a recognized board along with a diploma in relevant subject are eligible for admission.

Directorate of Distance Education Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University also offers a postgraduate diploma in distance mode for the candidates who have completed 3 years of formal education after 10+2. The duration of the Post Graduate Diploma distance program is 1 year. Selection in the program is based on merit in the relevant subject.

Application for programs offered by Directorate of Distance Education, Tamil Nadu Physical Education, and Sports University can be filled offline. Interested candidates can follow the below-given procedure to fill the application form correctly.
- Application for various programs of Directorate of Distance Education Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University is available online, candidates can download the application form.
- Duly filled form attached along with self-attested documents and a Demand Draft/Cash Chalan of INR 375 in favor of "The Director, TNPESU, payable at Chennai" must be sent to the official address of the university before the last date.
Note: A student cannot pursue more than one course in our University or any other Universities or Institutions in the same academic year.

For Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University (TNPESU), the admission for the academic year 2025-26, including B.Sc Yoga, was opened earlier in 2025, with the online application portal active around May 2025 and the last date for UG admissions (including B.Sc Yoga) reported as 31 May 2025.
This means for the next session (2026-27), the admissions are expected to open again around April-June 2026 on the official TNPESU website (www.tnpesu.org
), but exact dates have not been officially published yet.
The students are selected for admission to MBA program on the basis of merit in last qualifying examination. The eligibility criteria is a bachelor's degree from recognized University with the least aggregate of 50% marks.
DDE TNPESU will start the registration process for admission to UG courses soon. The application form will be available on the official website once released.
