RRCE BE Information Science & Engineering: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

The college admits students through various entrance exams like COMED-K and CET. Despite entering via COMED-K, some students are treated as management students for fees. CET admissions occur in the third selection round. Government seats are available, and there is some confusion between the Information Science (IS) and Computer Science (CS) programs. Faculty reviews are mixed; some are seen as rude, but the Head of Department is praised for being supportive and fostering placements.

Sinchana Ma'am from the IS department is highlighted for her helpful teaching approach. The fee structure varies: non-Karnataka students pay approximately Rs. 1.5 lakh more than local management and COMED-K students. Government (CET) students pay around Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 80,000, while management fees range from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 2 lakh. Additional charges apply for non-Kannadiga students. Placement opportunities are improving, with about 20 companies visiting this year, up from previous years, although claims of over 200 companies are exaggerated.

Approximately 70% of students secure jobs with firms like Accenture, Wipro, and TCS. Limited internship opportunities exist, especially for early-year students. Scholarships of up to Rs. 19,000 are available only for Karnataka students, and non-Karnataka students lack scholarship or loan options. Tuition for non-Karnataka students is about Rs. 1.5 lakh more than for Karnataka students. CET quota students pay around Rs. 19,700 for tuition, Rs. 3,680 for exams, and up to Rs.

95,000 for hostel fees annually. SC/ST students under CET may have fees covered by government scholarships. The Information Science program costs Rs. 2 lakh annually, with scholarships up to Rs. 98,000. Fees for electronics, robotics, and automation range from Rs. 1 to 2 lakh per year, increasing annually. Lab and placement facilities are seen as advantageous compared to other colleges.
