Ques: Is CET Trivandrum a government college?

CET Trivandrum is a government engineering college, established in 1939 by the Government of Travancore. This institute is acknowledged and managed by the Government of Kerala. It is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. As a government institution, it receives various funding and economic support from the state government and sticks to its regulations set by the educational ministries.

When does the admission process start?

The admission process at the CET begins in the first quarter of the year, but it depends on the program. For UG courses such as B.Tech and B.Arch, the admissions start in February with KEAM registration. For PG admissions like M.Tech and M.Arch, the admission starts right after GATE results, which are usually released their results in May, through CCMT. For admission to an MBA, it starts around April, based on CAT, CMAT, or KMAT scores.

CET Trivandrum Placement FAQS

Ques. Who is eligible for campus placements at CET?

Ans. Students who are in their final year of UG or PG courses are eligible to join campus placements at the CET. To get in the placement round, candidates should fulfil the institute's academic criteria, that is, maintain the required CGPA, and students should not have any active backlogs while appearing for placement. Also, the students need to follow the regulations of the Career Guidance and Placement Unit (CGPU), which might involve enrolling in placement activities, undergoing training sessions, and ensuring good attendance and behaviour during the academic year.

Ques. Do international companies visit the campus?

Ans. CET invites various international organisations during campus placements. Some of the well-known multinational organisations like Amazon Inc., Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Deloitte, KPMG International, Texas Instruments, and Daimler AG (Mercedes-Benz) have been recruiting students of CET in recent years. Life at CET

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Placement Experience:

The placements start in the end of sixth semester and college will provide training foe the placxements. if we didnt get placements dont worry., because even after we pass out we can attent the placements for next 2 years also which is off campus placement. There are 3 slabs of placement in slab 1 is up to 6 lpa but not 6 lpa. slab 2 is in between 6 lpa and 15 lpa. slab 3 is above 15 lpa which is a dream company. A person who got placed in core company is not eligible to apply for placements offering lpa in slab 1 and slab 2. but can sit in dream company

The college provides very good number of placements with quite decent salary packages compared to other state funded and private institutes in Kerala.Average salary packages range from 6,00000 to 9,00,000 and higher packages exceed up to 50,00,000

Placement Experience:

The campus placements begins from the sixth semester onwards. Many reputed companies of national and international origin come for placements.This include Microsoft, Infosys, Technopark, Schneighder , Tesla , etc and provide good salary packages ranging from 6,00,000 to 50,00,000 lpa.
