School of Distance Education (SDE) of MGU commenced its activities in 1990. SDE aims to provide cost-effective quality education to the largest section of the population including those living in remote areas.

MG University SDE has 73 centers, 66 of them are in India and 7 in abroad.
The Schools have tied-up with UGC, FIST, DRS, DST, ISRO, COSIST, CSIR, DAAD, STEC, ICMR, BARC, MOEF, ICCSR, ICHR and IED and taken up 70 Research Projects.
Application fee of INR 500 is required to be paid through DD for centers located in India and US $50 for International centers.
SDE offers various UG and PG programs in Arts, Science and Commerce and other programs in Law, Business Administration, Computer Application and Tourism Administration.
A 10+2 pass is required for UG programs and a Bachelor’s degree for PG courses.
Usually, all application forms can be obtained from the designated centers by producing a Bank Challan or Coupon.
Duly filled application forms are required to be sent by post along with the copy of challan and self-attested documents.
Selection is based on the marks scored in the SDE Entrance Examination conducted by the Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU).
SC/ST students are exempted from the payment of exam fee for maximum 3 times within the period of 4 years from the day of their first appearance for the respective examination.

Note: Students will not be allowed to take admission in two courses at a time either in this University or outside except for Diploma/Certificate courses in German, Russian etc.

MG University SDE offers B.A, B.Com and B.Sc programs in various specializations. Admissions are done on the basis of score in entrance exam or merit list prepared by the university.

Students who are permanent residents or domiciled in Kerala and who have passed the Pre-degree examination of MG University or any other examination recognized by this University are eligible to apply.
No minimum marks are prescribed to apply for private registration under UG courses.

MG University M.A & M.Sc Admission 2024

SDE of MG University offers M.A and M.Sc courses in various specializations. Admissions are on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination followed by document verification.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university to secure admission in M.A and M.Sc programs.

Candidates can apply for M.A and M.Sc courses by clicking on the ‘Online PG Private Registration’ link provided on the official website.

M.A	English	Graduates with English under part III or all Graduates in the faculties of Arts, Science, Social Sciences, Oriental Studies or Fine Arts who have taken not less than three papers in the examination under part-I English.	Marks obtained in the qualifying examination will be the only criteria for preparing the merit list. The Kerala Government reservation rules will be followed during the final selection process.
	Malayalam	B.A. with Malayalam under Part III or B.A /B.Sc. with Malayalam under Part II.
	Hindi	B.A. with Hindi under part III or B.A./B.Sc. with Hindi under Part II Additional Language or B.A./B.Sc. with Rashtrabhasha Praveen of Dakshin Bharath Hindi Prachar Sabha/Four course II Language/Additional Language in Hindi Common Course.
	Arabic	B.A. with Arabic under part III or B.A. with Arabic as one of the subsidiaries or B.A./B.Sc.with Arabic under Part II or B.A.P.O.T. (Affzal-UI-Ulrna) of Calicut University/ Four course II Language/Additional Language in Arabic Common Course.
	Sanskrit	B.A. with Sanskrit under part Ill or B.A/B.Sc. with Sanskrit under part II-Additional Language/ Four course II Language/Additional Language in Sanskrit Common Course.
	History	All graduates in the Faculty of Social Sciences or graduates with English Language and Literature as the main subject under the Faculty of Arts.
	Economics	Graduates in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or B.Sc. degree in Co-operation and Banking from Kerala Agriculture University.
	Philosophy	Graduates in Philosophy or graduates in Arts, Science or Social Sciences.
	Politics	Graduates in Politics, History, Economics, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Law, Journalism, Public Administration, Geography or any other Social Sciences.
	Sociology	Graduates in the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Law or Commerce.
	Islamic History	All Graduates in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
M.Sc.	Mathematics	Graduates in Mathematics or Statistics as main optional/core course under Part Ill with 45% marks for III/1.8 Grade point in Math or B.Tech with not less than 45% marks in Mathematics (aggregate of all the 4 Mathematics papers) and a total of 45% marks for the entire Course or B.Sc. Computer application graduates with not less than 45% marks/1.8 Grade point in the concerned optional subjects including Computer application and statistics. Candidates belonging to SC/ST are exempted from minimum marks restriction and OBC candidates are allowed a concession of 2% marks. Bona fide teachers employed in Govt./Aided Schools in the Kerala State shall be exempted from the minimum marks requirement on the production of an employment certificate from the AEO/DEO/Principals concerned.
M.Com.		All B.Com., BBA or BBM graduates are eligible to apply.

MG University Distance (SDE) Application Process 2024

Students can download the application form from the official website of SDE. Application form can be submitted to MG University office by following the given steps:

Open the University Website and click on ‘Admission’ followed by ‘Online UG Private Registration’ or ‘Online PG Private Registration.
A page containing the guidelines will appear.
Click on the link ‘Click here to Register’.
Fill all the details such as Educational Qualification, Personal Information, Center of Examination, Course, Main / Elective Subject, Second language etc.
Application fee of INR 1050 is required to be paid through SBT/Friends Janasevana Kendra/University Cash Counter.
If the mode of payment is SBT or Friends Janasevana Kendra then the name of the branch will be asked. Select the branch and enter the Pay-in-Slip No. followed by the date of payment.
Take the printout of the duly filled application form.
Send the completely filled application form along with the required documents in a self-addressed stamped envelope for INR 52 of the size of 24x32 by registered post to

Note 1: If a student has passed his/her 10+2 from National Institute Open Schooling (NIOS) or Other State boards then an additional fee of INR 175 is required to be paid along with the application fee.

Note 2: Candidates are advised to keep one copy of the duly filled application form for future reference.

MG University Distance (SDE) Reservation Criteria 2023

SC/ST students are exempted from the payment of exam fee for maximum 3 times within the period of 4 years from the day of their first appearance for the respective examination. Rules for Reservation are discussed below.

20% for SC/ST and OBC: Preference will be in the given order in the following:

If candidates are not available, seats will be filled in the from open quota i.e. on the basis of merit.
20% management quota, Merit is not necessary.
10% community quota, on the basis of merit.
1% in degree (except Geology) to 3 sections of Physically handicapped, blind, deaf and orthopedically handicapped with provision for the interchange of seats among them.
Sports: One seat for every 20 seats in M.A., M.Sc., M.Com. MSW Courses are reserved for sports person.

Admission:

The admission to the PG courses is based on the merit . The interested candidates for PG courses have to apply for the centrally allotment process known as PGCAP. For admission in the college I have filled the registration form and I have got admitted in the college on the basis of my score card fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria of having a graduation degree of minimum 3 years with 45-50% aggregate in the qualifying examination. The college is ranked 30 according to the NIRF ranking 2019.I have chosen this college because it is one of the best college college in Kerala.

Arts courses in MODE

Admission:

The marks that are obtained in the qualifying examination in the standard 10+2 will be solely considered. The admission will be on the basis of merit so, as I had obtained 92% in my board exams from CBSE board, I was able to get admission in the institute. From thereon, I had to fill the application form for which I was charged Rs.500/- through DD for the centers located in India that was I was interested in.

Admission:

After 12th I looked up for a good course in healthcare and I found B.Sc. MRT course. This was the first institution to start the radiology degree in India. Admission:

college admissions are done on the basis of merit list selections. Through joint entrance examination conducted by university after completing higher secondary education. You have to clear the entrance exam which is conducted by team and the cut off mark for this entrance exam is 10 out of 100. We can take admission only if we qualify this examination.
