Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies (YIMS) is situated in the Palakkad district of Kerala. Affiliated to the University of Calicut.
YIMS Palakkad offers UG courses viz. B.Sc. and B.A. along with PG courses i.e M.A in English and M.Com in Finance. YIMS is the first university in Kerala to offer a regular degree in Hotel Management.
- For admission to B.Sc, a candidate need to have passed 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with a minimum of 27 Grade Point Value (GPV) in 6 subjects.
- For B.Com in Finance, the candidates need to have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 45% marks.
- For B.B.A, candidates should have obtained 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
- Candidates applying to B.A. in English Literature need to have passed the HSE of Kerala Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination.
- For B.Sc. courses, candidates need to have passed HSE of the Kerala Board or its equivalent with 45% marks.
- For admission to M.Com in Finance, students with 45% marks in B.Com are eligible to apply.
- The basic eligibility for admission to M.A. in English is 45% marks in B.A. English.
- Admission to YIMS is interview-based after being shortlisted on the basis of merit.

YIMS Palakkad UG Admission 2023
YIMS offers various 3-year Bachelor courses which includes B.Sc. in 6 specializations with a combined intake of 276 students, BCA with an intake of 60 students, B.A. in English Literature with a total of 40 seats, along with 50 and 100 seats in BBA and B.Com with Finance, respectively.
The minimum eligibility for admission to UG courses is the candidate should have passed the HSE with minimum 45% marks. Selection of candidates to the UG courses is done on the basis of merit, followed by interview.

In case of B.Sc, there is a concession of 3 GPV points in OBC/OEC candidates whereas SC/ST applicants require only a pass in HSE from a recognized board.
- For B.Sc. in Computer Science, a candidate should have passed 10+2 with Mathematic/Statistics/Computer Science/Computer Application as one of the subjects.
- Candidates applying to BCA must have passed 10+2 with Mathematic/Computer Science/ Computer Application/Information Practices as one of the subjects.
- In case of BBA, candidate should have passed 10+2 with minimum 50% marks.
- Candidates applying to B.Com in Finance should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in HSE or any equivalent examination.
- For B.Com in Computer Application, candidates need to have passed HSE with at least one commerce subject.
YIMS Palakkad MA and M.Com Admission 2023
At the PG level, YIMS offer two-year PG courses viz. M.Com with Finance and M.A. in English. The total number of seats in both the courses are 15. Candidates are shortlisted for admission to the PG courses on the basis of merit in the qualifying degree examination.
Candidates seeking admission to PG courses must have passed graduation with at least 45% marks in their relevant bachelors degree. For admission to M.A. in English candidates who have not graduated with English as one of their subjects might be required to appear an entrance examination.

I applied to many colleges but at that time there was some problems in the allotment process so i got late to get called by colleges. By that time i took admission for bsc psychology in yuvakshetra college. I applied im Victoria college for psychology, physics, botany, zoology etc, same in other colleges like govt. College chittur, Nss ottapalam, Nss nenmara, mercy college,etc.
I got call from these colleges very after i took admission in yuvakshetra so i didn't joined there.
In my college there is interview process just an interaction with the director but i hadn' t have it because i was late to take admission in my college. As my college is calicut university affiliated exams is based on calicut university timetable.

I wanted to study in a college where they provide various opportunities and hence it is one .

This course just requires 12th grade pass and this course not a diploma course this is a BSC Hotel Management so now it is being 4 years in older days it was 3 years course. So so many students to join these courses nowadays

Admissions in YIMS are purely on merit and cut-off for B.Com is around 80%. Student has to have a science or a commerce stream to enroll for B.Com. As many as 3 lists were declared as intake is low and competition is high. You get ample time to confirm your admission as there is enough gap between every list. The admission process is transparent and students are chosen purely on merit and hence the quality of students here is top-class.

The admission process was pretty smooth for me. The eligibility of the course is 12th pass .The details regarding the collage the admission process etc..are fully provided on their website and it is available in Google also the application form can be find from Google or you can directly go to collage. The reservation benefits are mentioned on their website.The exam process on there was not that much hard.For improvement I didn't have any suggestions since I find the admission process great.

The course I chose because I want to be an income tax councilor. The course is eligible who were 70% above marks in +2 exams. The application form can be found at the college office and the application fee is 500. There are no reservations for any students. There is no need for improvement in the admission process.

I tried many other colleges. Most of them are government colleges. But I didn't got placement. Their placements are reserved for backward categories(based on caste and religion!!). Then I came to Yuvakshetra. I was already applied here for the merit seat which will redice my fee. Here I got placement with discount in fee because I have more than 85% mark in plus two. They treated me very well in the admission time.
