Baselius College, Kottayam was established in 1964. The college was accredited by NAAC with B++ level. The college stands for academic excellence, development of skill and character so as to produce intellectually matured, morally upright, socially committed and spiritually inspired men and women. The aim of the college is to develop the potentials of the youth and providing them with spiritual, intellectual and physical values.

National Service Scheme- To promote respect for labour, discipline, Gandhian principles, national integration and work culture, we have at present 3 NSS units in our college
Clubs:
Mens Forum- In order to promote fruitful co-operation among the male members of the faculty and the student community of Baselius College, a Men's Forum has been introduced. This forum plans beneficial activities for men through seminars, discussions etc. in which issues and problems faced by men can be widely addressed
Womens Forum- It organizes discussions, seminars and awareness programmes, focusing mainly on women's issues and needs in tune with the times
Blood Donors Club- The members continue the work of the good Samaritan by donating blood and they save precious human lives and keep the dignity of the human race
I applied in many colleges even in one of my favourite CMS college but I didn't get admission there. Moreover I got admission in St thomas College pala but I rejected it over baselius because of its department. The admission process in our college can be apply through their websites or even online portals based on the seats and availability. I took admission on merit based so as a highly challenging course among other courses it is difficult to get admission in bcom on merit basis. I think to get seat in the merit a student should score above 92% in their 12th exam.
This college provides us great quality of infrastructure Including campus amenity and learning facilitese
The college is intrestings and there is so much to see

I have applied almost every collges near me and even got admissions but i needed to have some exposure so i applied for MG university and got admission in these college and analised about the college and felt its great so i selected it
Things tha we like is we have big library and the staffs keep very silence in it
Campus is very clean and neat the principal was very consider about it
Dislikes
Very small campus there is no place to chill in interval
There is no worth able program the principal is very strict
The students in the college are not at all very friendly

I didn't choose this college with my opinion I was forced to choose this college and course I want to study in st Paul's college ernakum b.com computer application but I was forcefully choose this college and course.

I applied to Kuriacos Elias College Mannanam. And i got admitted to the same. But i chose Baselius because the college i got admitted didn't have the course that i wanted. I didn't get any rejection. I was called for admission and i had to submit my 10th and 12th mark list.
Basically i chose this college over other is because i wanted to take a degree under Mahatma Gandhi university and when I searched this college has an naac a++ accreditation so that caught my eye and I prefer to join there

I applied to this college through MG University portal. And Baselius College Kottayam was my first option and i got called for admission here. To secure the admission student should go in person to the College and fill in a form giving our details as well as should submit caste certificate, salary certificate of parent, 10th and 12 orginal marksheet
College is situated at the heart of the city Many food spots and cinema theatres are nearby UFOlanding spot at Seemati round is a major attraction (JK).I had a great time there. Try to study also otherwise you will also be writing reviews in futureJK
I met some amazing friends during my course. Eventhough my first year classes were almost online , rest two years was awesome. Met different people and made many friends from different departments.College Ground, parking spotsand verandahs were good.
Cultural activities and sports events are hosted regularly. Many faculties and teachers are friendly. College canteen and stores are clean, hygienic and efficient. Canteen meals were good and personally did not had any problems.Cocuricular activities

College Politics has always caused some frictions for many friendships but was not demeaning. Some staff had problema with friendly bonds between boys and girls.
The college is small in area compared to other nearby colleges.Some teachers were friendly while others didn't had open mind, may be due to generation gap. Used to have irritating parents teacher meetings and programmes.
Admission:
Eligibility of the course is +2 SSLC/CBSE/ICSE with Science major. As the college is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University application form, application dates are available at their official site. Management admission is according to College board. UG application dates are usually during May June months during an academic year. Community benefits and reservation benefits are available for eligible students. Online Admission process is convenient for most of the students.
the admission process wasn't actually difficult, we just have to go to the college on the date. there we can see the principal and other officials, we just have to fill the forms. I personally got admission using management quota. eligibility of the course is accordi6to the mark. 80 % mark is just enough I think. details of application form ,fee and application fees are given in the college website . reservation for application is highly recommend as you will get a consideration among others. admission was actually easy. you just have to go there. there you can meet the teachers etc
The admission is purely based on marks obtained in plus two. Anyone who passed plus two can apply for the course.
Sc St students have special seats for each course. Grands are provided for students based on their economic background also based on caste.

For admission under the General Merit Category, including the Physically Handicapped Quota, Cultural Quota, Sports Quota, and SC ST Reservation Category, candidates have to register themselves online on the Mahatma Gandhi University. Rank lists will be published in the college Notice Board/website on the dates prescribed by the University. Candidates have to verify the same. Admissions under CAP will be purely based on the allotment list provided by the University. However, applications for admission under Community Quota and Management Quota are to be submitted in the college itself within the dates prescribed by the University, the application form for which can be downloaded from the college website.
