Personally speaking I did not intern during my time at the college due to UPSC preparation but many of my classmates did. Some who wanted to pursue further education went to intern under publication houses, lawyers, or assisting professors etc.

Various MNCs visit the college every year and it does provide very good opportunites for the students to get placed and get a fair enough starting positions. The average package is around 8-10LPA.

I have only seen on-campus internships until now where you have to do some work of the Vice Chancellor in the summer vacations and you get a stipend of about 5-7k per month which is low but fair enough for a student. You can also apply for off-campus placements in some companies and get a good stipend of 15-20k per month.
For student who were in the final year of graduation internship is a mandatory part of their curriculum. The age of the students doesn't exceed 25 years as on the 31 December of their internship. And the selection process is fully online.
Numerous companies come on campus for internships, startups, consulting firms, and NGOs. Students also take up different research projects in the summers (IISc Bangalore, IIT Delhi, DSE, etc.)
Internships of all sorts are provided like a salesperson, sales manager, content writer, creative designer, photographer, teacher, and for science students a research internship under a professor. Usually, these internships are for experience but in some cases, they may pay you well too.
Internships are availed more at an individual level by surfing everywhere and getting what you want to do. College in itself doesn't add to it. I did an internship with an NGO working for the cleanliness and reestablishment of wastelands. So yes you can do whatever internship you want in the field you are interested in.
The Campus Placement Cell (aka CPC) of Stephen's is a student-run body, and it is very active. It will mail students about internships (both summer and virtual) throughout the year. Many students can get internships and some of the internships will be high paying and can be extended into a placement offer depending on their performance.
I did an internship in an HR company named Blitzjobs which was an unpaid internship. But many other companies also come to provide internship opportunities which are paid. One such company is Whitehat Jr., Digiadda, Deutsche Bank, and a few others.
Two modes of internships are offered to the students: Remote Internships and Summer Internships. The remote internships are available throughout the year, whereas the summer internships are available during the summer vacations decided by the university. Companies such as Oxford University Press and Hindustan Unilever Limited offer internships to students. Most of the students applying for the internship are accepted for small posts in the companies.
