Students also ask

Ques. I choose wrong CUET subjects for the DU course. Can I still get SGGSCC admission later?

Ans. If the wrong CUET subject is chosen, admission can become a problem. In Delhi University, students must select CUET subjects similar to Class 12 subjects and the course requirements. If the subject combination does not match, that course option may not show in the CSAS portal. Even good marks do not help in that case. So students should select CUET subjects very carefully.

Ques. I get the same CUET marks as another student, how does DU decide who get seat first?

Ans. Sometimes two students get the same CUET score. In that case, Delhi University use tie-breaking rules. First, the university compares marks in specific CUET subjects used for course merit. If still the same, Class 12 marks may be checked. If ties still remain, then other rules apply within the university system to decide the final seat allotment.

SGGSCC Admission FAQs

Ques. I get SGGSCC seat in the first round. Should I wait for a better college or confirm admission?

Ans. When a student get seat in first CSAS round, it is better to accept the seat first. After accepting, the student can still choose the upgrade option in the portal. If a higher preference college is available in the next round, the system automatically upgrades the seat. If no upgrade happens, the previous seat remains safe with the student.

Ques. I scored low in the CUET exam. Is it still possible to get the SGGSCC course in later rounds?

Ans. If the CUET score is a little low, still a chance, sometimes possible in later CSAS rounds. Some seats become empty when students withdraw or upgrade college. In that case cutoff may go a little lower in the next rounds. But for popular courses like B.Com (Hons.), the cutoff usually stays very high because many students apply.

Ques. I want SGGSCC admission. How many seats are available in the BMS course every year?

Ans. In the SGGSCC BMS course, there are limited seats available every year. Around 46 seats are offered in one section for this program. Because seats are limited and many students apply, competition becomes very high. That is why the CUET cutoff for the BMS course usually remains high compared to many other courses.

Ques. I passed class 12 from a different board. Can I still apply for SGGSCC admission?

Ans. Yes, a student from any recognised board in India can apply for SGGSCC admission. The main requirement is passing Class 12 or equivalent exam and appearing in the CUET-UG exam. After that student must participate in the DU CSAS counselling process. Seat allotment happens based on the CUET score and category.

Ques. I want the SGGSCC computer science course. Do I need maths in the CUET exam?

Ans. For B.Sc (Hons.) Computer Science and mathematics are very important. Students must choose Mathematics or Applied Mathematics in CUET along with a language and other subjects. The merit list is prepared using those CUET subject scores. If the maths subject is not taken, students usually cannot apply for a computer science course in DU.

AI-Generated Summary based on 90 Reviews

The Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) admission process at Delhi University is based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Applicants are required to fill their subject preferences and select desired universities during the application process, which is conducted online. The entrance exam is held at various centers, with the option to select a preferred center. The previous year's CUET cutoffs for top colleges ranged from around 710 to 760 out of 800, while the passing threshold was set at 480+.

Admission is processed through the Delhi University's central system (CSAS), where candidates fill their preferences post-CUET score release, determining their college seats. Reservation benefits are available for categories such as SC/ST/OBC and others like minority and CW quotas, although one review mentioned a lack of reservations for certain categories in some colleges. The distinction between government and private institutions is noted, with government colleges like those in Delhi University preferred for reasons such as reasonable fees and return on investment, proximity to home, and infrastructure quality.

Overall, entry into the Delhi University B.Com (Hons.) program requires keen attention to CUET scores, seat allocation rounds, and strategic preference selection.
