Ans. No, Hindi as a subject in 10+2 is not mandatory for general BA Hindi admission at SCD Government College. However, having Hindi in 10+2 is preferred as it provides better foundation for the course. The college considers merit based on overall 10+2 performance for admission.
Ques. What is the difference between BA Hindi and BA (Hons) Hindi?
Ans. BA Hindi is a general 3-year undergraduate program with flexibility to choose multiple subjects. BA (Hons) Hindi is a specialized program where Hindi is the major subject. At SCD Government College, students can opt for Honours in Hindi from the 2nd year onwards if they secure at least 50% marks in Hindi in the 1st year. Honours program provides deeper study of Hindi literature, linguistics, and cultural aspects with more rigorous coursework compared to general BA.
Ques. What are the career options after completing BA Hindi?
Ans. BA Hindi graduates have diverse career opportunities including teaching (after B.Ed), journalism and media, content writing, publishing, government services (through UPSC/state exams), translation services, and corporate communication roles.
