Ques. Is Hindi a popular subject at Pragjyotish College? How is the faculty?
Ans. The Hindi Department at Pragjyotish College has dedicated faculty members including Dr. Nandita Rajbangshi (Assistant Professor, also NSS Programme Officer) and Dr. Kalyani Devi. The department uses the shared Language Laboratory for practical language learning. Ques. Can I get free admission (free studentship) for BA Hindi at Pragjyotish College?
Ans. Yes, students from Assam with a valid income certificate and ration card may be eligible for free studentship, which significantly reduces or waives tuition and certain other fees. This is a state government provision and is income-based. You need to submit the income certificate and ration card at the time of admission.
Ques. Is CUET mandatory for admission to BA Hindi at Pragjyotish College?

The new FYUGP is an 8-semester, 4-year programme with multiple exit options (Certificate after 1 year, Diploma after 2 years, Bachelor degree after 3 years, and Bachelor with Research/Honours after 4 years). The old CBCS was a 3-year, 6-semester programme. Students admitted from 2023 onwards are under the FYUGP framework.
