Unpacking the college experience

Likes

My college is very beautiful. Still i love my college.
My College is on the hill. Good atmosphere to vibe with friends.
My college faculties are excellent. Teaching methods are very simple.

Dislikes

It is difficult to travel on a daily basis as it is in the hills.
The condition of the class room is miserable.
Education suffers due to lack of permanent teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a student, My wish was to do a degree in any science subject. Physics was the most preferred science subject.That is why I choose Physics. Now I intend to get a degree in Physics and get phd in it and enter the teaching field.

NSS College Manjeri in my 2 month’s experience

Likes

The teachers lf the institute. They are well educated and well talented too.
Campus- As the campus is in top of a hill the students gets a calm and quiet environment to study
lab- For science students they are having good labs

Dislikes

The campus is too small with only limited number of students

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus and curriculum is very simple and understandable. The 3 year course is splited into 6 semesters. In each semester the exams will be conducted. The results may get late due to the activity of University.

Calm heaven

Likes

I liked the calm atmosphere.And the extra curriculum activities too.
The free wifi zone is another attraction.students can sit and relax there.
The teachers are wonderful and friendly.

Dislikes

The college is on the top of a hill.You have to walk approximately 1km in order to reach college.
The laboratory equipments are not enough.
The political atmosphere is one sided.It is annoying.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Exams were held by teachers at the correct time. It repeated every semester. It was a bit difficult to pass the exam because the course is very difficult to learn. So you should be very concentrated in order to pass the exams. The teachers and staffs are very supportive of that.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The department contains 5 teachers who are highly qualified and laboratory attenders. The total available seats for BSc. chemistry is 48. The teaching method is excellently appreciable but the end-semester exam is not up to date.

College with excellent chemistry department

Placement Experience:

There are no placement opportunities. One or two companies approaches. Most students opt for higher studies and qualify for entrance exams for various universities like BHU, CUSAT, MG, KERALA, and central universities. Most of the students qualified for entrance exams. I had decided to choose Llb after my graduation.

NSS college is one of the oldest colleges

Admission:

Admission procedure is quite easy. You just have to fill an online application form and send your marksheet. Selection is done on the basis of class 12 results and those students who have been given TC are not allowed to apply.

Remarks:

Overall i think the potential for the college is really good but the major downsides are bad placement record , outdated syllabus and older methods, traditional methods of learning which are not effective and plus the poor management . The only thing which makes me feel good about the college is teacher and a healthy learning environment .

The students are selected on merit basis in this college. The students must completed their higher secondary education from a recognised board. A merit list will be released on which the students can go and take the admissions.

Remarks:

Our college has good environment for students to study well. Our faculties are kind and friendly towards us. Our college provides scholarship for students. In our college there are many sports activities in which many student actively takes part in it.
