VIIT Pune is Best in Class!!

Likes

Since VIIT is subsidized by government the fees is very affordable of VIIT.
The number of engineers who have been churned at our college is too good to be true.
Excellent professors makes our college one of the most prominent one.

Dislikes

Curfew rules are very stringent for girls in our college.

Cognizant and Tech Mahindra gave internships to us in 3rd year and it was an experience of lifetime. Both have offices in Pune and that mare things easy for me. Also, they paid 15k as stipend making this even better for interns like us.

Opportunities provided to explore the field
Basic amenities are good enough to be used
clubs like gfg ,gdg, ieee , nss are there to be a part on country level

Dislikes

Faculties behaviour towards students and their constant show of grudge around specific student
Projectors of the class does not work properly
the app and website management is not good, it crashes constantly.

Internships Opportunities:

Every year many internship opportunities are provide to stuents and companies do come to college . the faculties do guide us regarding hwo should one get hired in a company by providing different sessions and introducing in different courses and arranging talk sessions with aluminies and working professionals in companies to provide the required real life guidence.

Great placements.

Likes

The most important thing I liked is college placements and exposure that the college provides. The placements are excellent and studios students can easily get a good placement.
You find every type of crowd in the college. And there are a lot of clubs for extra curricular activities
The project based learning pattern is excellent as it provides hands on knowledge of the subject and prepares the student for industry. Also the alumni network is excellent.

Dislikes

Much like other colleges, the faculty is not up to date and the time table could be messy at times
The infrastructure could improve. There is not much infrastructure for sports

Internships Opportunities:

Various companies provide internship. You can get internship through college placements portal , through faculties or even offline or through referrals. Good quality projects are encouraged by the faculties.

I appreciate overall college academics unlike other SPPU college VIIT is autonomous affiliated to SPPU
Because it is autonomous the exams and syllabus are decided by the college and unlike SPPU we have only endsem as a written exam and rest of the marks are achieved by internals that includes assignments, home assignment, project based learning, CIE
Faculty are supportive they always encourage students to go for hackathon, internships and much more.

Dislikes

Infrastructure college provide as compared to the fees they charge is not fair
I think submission management is not good in our college. Faulty wants everything by student in just a week to be completed they don't give time which put ample amount of burden on students
Lack of events.. Our college conducts events but not that much. So students who love to participate in events will be disappointed

Internships Opportunities:

Many companies offers internship in our college Like Electronic Arts, Cognizant, Amazon, Tata consultancy services, Accenture, Cisco this is information available with me as I am second year student internship opportunities by college is not yet provided for me.

Likes

the campus is good with proper management. theres proper place to sit and chill like theres benches where under the trees where students can hangout in their free time
the faculties re good they are supportive in nature not only in the academics but they also support in other activities
the canteen food is upto the mar studends dont need to worry for food as there also many snacks centres just besides the collge

Dislikes

the area in which the collge is located is very cheap, the thoughts of the people are not clean and the people are always showing their power of their localites
besides the college there is a small lane where students usually smoke around which make sit unsafe for clean students, also feels very hectic while pssing by
no proper parking system in the colllge especially for the four wheelers there is no parking and the two wheelers are also standing in the hot sun, parking syetm needs to be improved

Internships Opportunities:

many companies offer internships in the college like tech mahindra , tata, infoysis , achnor, students have to prepare some project at the fourth year the project alo describes the quality of the placements

Likes

The campus area is good and windy. The quality of infrastructure is good
The placement services are very much effective.
They offer various prohects to make the students future-proof. The syllabus is very much relevant. The faculty is very experienced and are of great help

Dislikes

Cleanliness of classrooms could have been better

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college are above average. The average package is 7 Lakhs for Mechanical Engineering. The highest package for Mechanical Engineering is 11.4 LPA in 2024. 93 per cent students get placements.

Facts of viit

Likes

Overall faculty is good but specially civil engineering department faculty is very supportive and they encourage students to explore the industry
Teaching method is good they teach the knowledge and they are also teach the how to apply a knowledge
Placement cell is there to help the students and they really helps the students in all the possible ways

Dislikes

College life :- everything is bounded under a 75 percent attendance so there is not much fun you should attend all the lectures
Campus :- nothing special in campus and very small campus for engineering college
Infrastructure:- there is no adventures in infrastructure simple block buildings is there

Internships Opportunities:

There are lot of opportunities of industrial intership and also reasearch base internship for students we need to chose as per our own interest There are many multi national companies like tata , L&T, black rock and many national companies also They offer you a roll according to your skills and abilities so it's totally depends upon us how we perform and give a output to them

VIIT -a good option?

Likes

Placement:Top comapnies like NVIDIA,BLACKROCK,WOLTERS KLUVER,AVAYA,JP MORGAN visit our campus every year to recruit NVIDIA gave highest package off 44 LPA and average placement is 7 lakhs per annum
Campus size:as comaparing campuses of other mumbai colleges our college campus is decent we have a big playground ample of parking space for cars and have different parking for faculties and students ,departmental buildings are spacious

Dislikes

Extra curricular activities:NO scope of extra curricular activities college have only one fest throughout the year which is gandharva ,apart from this no other activities they have only technical activities
faculties: some faculties inspite of having phd degree doesnt have good teaching skills,only the students whom they know get good internal marks and they get good cgpa which is a type of biased behaviour

Internships Opportunities:

Good inetrnships are provided after 6 th sem we need to just search them through college Tpo .I havent done any internship till date but some of my friends earned a stipend of 10,000 per momth in part time internships .Project based internships are also provided by teachers which are very used for patent and research papers

Overall good collage for placements.

Likes

Teachers are good,syllabus is up to date,not that much but compared to other collages oue collage font have physics and chemistry from this year
More on project based learning,dont need to memorise everything
Attendence is not that strict,means it is compulsory to have 75% attendence but not that strict,you can manage

Dislikes

Thier are lot of student admitted,no of students increased this year
Lot of students have taken admission by donation,in spot round
Campus area is very small compared to other collages

Internships Opportunities:

Thier are over 200 comapnies for internship and placement and 6 months internship is compulsory in collage in 3rd year so internship is 100% gauranteed,and i dont know that much about stipend as i am a 1st year student

Likes

The placement opportunities are good even during recession. The teachers are getting a little bit lousy.
The campus life is really nice. The students are friendly.
The faculty is really experienced and well versed.

Dislikes

The teachers are getting a little bit lousy and unenthusiastic.
The Campus area is a little less. But you can expect such things in Pune.
The fee is little more and the free rest structure can be improved.
