Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University School of Technology (PDPU SOT) Admission 2024
Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, School of Technology (PDPU-SOT) established in 2007. The School of Technology is one of the four schools of PDPU. It is the only university in Gujarat that has been granted a graded autonomy by UGC. The university is also AICTE approved.
PDPU-SOT offers 9 undergraduate, 12 graduate and doctoral degrees in Engineering and Technology. Its B.Tech Mechanical Engineering program is NBA Accredited.
Students willing to take admission to B.Tech must qualify JEE-Main and have 45% in the high school qualifying exam.
M.Tech aspirants can choose their field of study depending upon the subject they had in their bachelor’s. 60% CPI or equivalent CGPA is required to be eligible for admissions along with a valid GATE score.
Ph.D. students can get direct admission if they qualify for the JRF of UGC-NET exam and have 55% in their Masters and appear for an interview. While another way of getting admission requires aspirants to take up an internal Aptitude Test, qualifying which, they would be called for an interview.
Scholarships are offered to students enrolled in all degree programs on the basis of merit, JEE-Main ranking, and performance in the first semester of the course.

PDPU-SOT B.Tech Eligibility
Candidate should have 45% aggregate for General category and 40% for reserved category, in aggregate in both theory and practical of Physics & Mathematics (with Chemistry/Biology/Computer/Vocational subject) from a single board.
Scores of JEE Mains must also be submitted to be eligible for admissions.
Note: In case of Letter Grade/Performance Index or GPA instead of percentage marks, are required to submit an equivalence certificate from the issuing institution.
Selection Criteria
Based upon the All India Rank merit list, students are selected upon the JEE Main scores. The list is prepared by the university inviting the selected students for admissions.

PDPU-SOT M.Tech Admission Procedure
There are 2 phases for admissions to M.Tech program at PDPU-SOT:
Phase I:
Candidates with a valid GATE score: The applicants must attach the GATE scorecard while submitting the online application. Selection of preparation of the merit list will depend upon:
- All India rank for GATE.
- Marks out of 100 for the GATE scorecard.
- Aggregate marks of the relevant B.Tech. Degree.
Phase II:
Candidates having a GATE score but were not selected during the first phase, are eligible to apply for the second phase (they are given an additional 50% weightage). Students who do not have GATE scores can also apply for the second phase.
- A single merit list is prepared by the university for both GATE qualified and non-GATE qualified applicants.
- The performance score obtained in the personal interview by the applicant is essentially considered for admission.
PDPU-SOT Ph.D. Admission 2024
Students seeking admission to the Ph.D. program make it to the merit list if they qualify the written test and Personal Interview (PI). Break down of scores is 30% for PI and 70% for the Entrance Test.

PDPU-SOT Scholarships
Different types of merit-based scholarships are offered to students pursuing a degree program at PDPU-SOT. Some of them are as follows:
- B. Tech students are offered scholarships on the basis of the minimum SPI of 8 in the first semester. There may be a full tuition fee waiver also.
- GATE qualified M.Tech students are offered scholarships worth INR 8,000 to INR 12,400 per month.
- While Ph.D. scholars earn from INR 10,000 to INR 35,000 per month as part of fellowships.

- The campus is pretty good. It has modern infrastructure and good research facilities.
- Seniors are very supportive and friendly to freshmen. There is no chance of raging.

Admission:
I also applied to Nirma University. I got there admission in the Electronics and Communication department, but I want admission in computer science, so I chose Pandit Deendayal Energy University over Nirma University. I also applied for NITs, but admission criteria of 75% in boards got me rejected. In my college, you can get admission through online mode. The eligibility criteria is changed every year, so you have to check the official website for eligibility. Our college accepts the Jee main score and the Gujaratcet score, and you can get admission through ACPC counselling.

I applied for MSU but did not get admission in it due to high level of reservation for backward classes leaving less than 20 seats for general category. So my second option was this college and I am enjoying here

Application and admission process is besad on the acpc and jee .the 50% seats based on acpc and 50%is based on jee.NIR seats also available in college.the rank in acpc is very high around 23000 is not good

- Infrastructure is huge and have facilities like water drinking, washrooms on each floor, campus has amenities for medicines, snacks and stationery.
- Rooms have big seating capacity and 4 air conditioners.
Dislikes
- Management is very slow. And they send mail for fees before 1 month of the beginning of the semester. No assitance is provided, you have to pay it in full before the deadline.
- Scholarships are given to only those whose family income is less than 7Lpa. If you are scoring high then there's no benefit for you!
Admission:
Everything is available at official website of the institution. I applied through ACPC based on GUJCET and 12th Score. My rank was around 10000. There are 3 rounds out of which I got selected in 1st round. The semester is of 6 months, 4 months teaching, half month exams and rest vacation.

Dislikes
- Less creative students and most students only focus on getting a good CGPA.
Admission:
Admission is done through JEEmains and GUJCET exams (optional). The process is smooth and efficient. There were no difficulties for admission. The site functions well and the staff is available for enquiries.

- The attendance rule is 80% and the university is very strict regarding to the attendance rule.
- The timing of college is very unfit for the students who want to explore the other fields and develop their co-curriculum.
Admission:
The eligibility of the course is that one should have passed the board exam and should have appeared for either DASA (for NRI students only), JEE or GUJCET. The students who are willing to get admission through the score of Board+GUJCET(ACPC) should list the college in ACPC choice filling and the students who are willing to take admission through JEE or NRI quota should fill up the admission form available on the official website of the university. For the year 2022, the fee for the application for admission was Rs 1000 only. The overall admission process of the college is very good.

The admission process is so much good it goes on step-wise with merit rank. On the basics of merit rank all the students get admitted In my city I find the poster advertisement for this college. Ya, they have reservations for sc, st, and obc. You have min 60% in the 12th board and about 91%ile in jee main for cs branch and 80%ile min for the mechanical branch.

Admission:
If outside state JEE Mains is required, Home State Gujarat you can apply on both bases GUJCET and JEE Mains. 50% of seats are reserved for Gujrat State students. The application will be available at the time of admission on pdpu.ac.in, the application form fee is INR 1100, application dates vary from year to year after covid but remain some around jee result declaration. All Reservations of General. OBC, SC, ST are availaible. 50% Gujarat state quota should be removed to invoke more talent.
