Government Engineering College, Modasa (GECM) is a prestigious engineering institute based out of Aravalli, Gujarat. It is a government aided institute established in 1984. GECM is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad.

Government Engineering College, Modasa offers undergraduate and postgraduate level programs in various disciplines of engineering. The college currently offers eight B.Tech programs and two M.Tech programs in the disciplines of Applied Mechanics, Automobile Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology.

  • Only online mode of application is allowed. Candidates can register and apply through GUJCET website.
  • Registration fee of INR 350 can be paid at the “Help Centre” while purchasing the information booklet and PIN.
  • Print out of the complete application form and photocopies of relevant documents must be submitted at the respective Help Centre.
  • Candidates can also apply for admission under management / NRI quota.
  • The current intake for B.Tech programs is 960, with 120 seats in each discipline
  • For M.Tech programs, the total intake is 36, with 18 seats per program.
  • 10+2 in science stream with minimum 45% marks for admission B.Tech programs.
  • M. Tech candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering/ technology in the relevant discipline with minimum 45% marks. 
  • B.E. candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in GUJCET or JEE Main.
  • Candidates are allotted seats and courses through counselling conducted by Commissionerate of Technical Education, Gujarat. 
  • M. Tech candidates are selected on the basis of GATE score. If seats remain vacant after admission of GATE candidates, Gujarat PGCET score is taken into consideration.

Government Engineering College, Modasa B.Tech Admission 2026

GEC, Modasa, offers B.Tech programs in up to eight disciplines. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to any of these programs is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent in science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the main subjects with minimum 45% aggregate.

Selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks/ rank secured by the applicant in GUJCET or JEE Main, which is followed by a counselling session conducted on a state level. A final merit list of the candidates is declared after counselling process.

Government Engineering College, Modasa M.Tech. Admission 2026

The college offers M.Tech programs in two engineering disciplines. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to M.Tech is a graduate engineering degree (B.E. / B.Tech) or equivalent in the relevant or allied discipline with a minimum percentile of 45%.

Selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks/ rank secured by the applicant in Gujarat PGCET. GATE candidates can also apply and do not need to appear for PGCET if they have a valid GATE score. However, the common counselling is mandatory for both GATE and PGCET candidates.

Key Points for Admission:

  • Candidates with PGCET score are provided admission only after admitting GATE/GPAT applicants, provided seats have remained vacant.
  • All GATE qualified candidates, all sponsored candidates, and all outside Gujarat candidates shall have to submit registration form along with photocopies of documents at designated Help Centers.
  • It is mandatory for all candidates to produce original copies of relevant documents at Help Centers for verification purpose.

The process of application for courses offered by GCE Gandhi Nagar is as follows:

For B. Tech programs

Applicants seeking admission through GUJCET can apply online by visiting the GSEB website. New applicants are required to register their candidature before filling the online application form.Candidates can obtain the information brochure and PIN for registration by paying INR 350 at any of the listed “help centers” assigned by the board.

The process of online application post registration is as follows:

  • After filling all the requisite details, the applicant will then need to upload the scanned copies of photograph and signature in the specified format.
  • The candidate must obtain a DD of INR 300 in favor of "Secretary, Gujarat Common Entrance Test Cell” payable at Gandhinagar.
  • Upon submission of application form, a unique application number will be created for each applicant which he/she will need to preserve for future correspondence.
  • A print-out of the complete application form and self-attested photo copies of the required documents must be submitted at nearby help Centre.
  • The requisite acknowledgement slip after submission of registration form is to be collected from the Help Centre.
  • Candidates who qualify GUJCET will need to attend counselling for further admission process

Note: For M. Tech admission, candidates can apply through Commissionerate of Technical Education, Gujarat website. The registration fee for M. Tech candidates is INR 1000.
