Admission to the college begins with the JEE Mains Exam, followed by the MP DTE counselling process, where students list their college and branch preferences. The annual college fee ranges from 24,000 to 25,000 INR, with extra exam and portal fees around 3,000 INR. Scholarships from the MP government, like the Vikramaditya scholarship, can cover the entire fee, making education affordable. OBC students can receive about 30,000 INR annually, while SC/ST students receive 41,000 INR, often exceeding actual fees.
The faculty, mainly MTech graduates from reputed institutions, provide robust academic support. Mechanical engineering faculty are noted for their expertise. Placement opportunities are limited for core branches, with under 10% getting placed, whereas IT and Electronics students have better prospects with firms like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro. The salary packages range from 3 to 3.5 lakh per annum, with the highest at 11 lakh. A minimum CGPA of 7.00 is required for placements.
About 30% of students secured positions in the 2022-23 academic year. Internships with companies like BHEL and NTPC are mandatory after the 3rd year. The college offers various labs and skill-enhancing programs, particularly for Mechanical Engineering students. Although placement opportunities are limited, the Training & Placement cell is working to attract more companies for campus recruitment.
