DOMS, IIT Madras Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

MBA course is one of the popular courses of DoMS IIT Madras. The course duration is 2 years. Students planning to enroll in this course should have a valid CAT/ GMAT score. 

MBA has 6 specializations as shown below:

DoMS IIT Madras MBA Eligibility 

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks from a recognized University.
• Also, they must possess a valid score in the CAT exam.
• 5% relaxation of marks is provided to the students belonging to the reserved category(SC/ST/PwD/ Defense Personnel). 
• Final year students can also apply.

Key Points:

• Students who graduated from IIT and have a minimum CGPA of 8 are exempted from CAT scores.
• Defense personnel must apply through government agencies and are also exempted from the CAT score
• The company-sponsored candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the sponsoring organization.
• International applicants must have a GMAT score.

DoMS IIT Madras MBA Selection Criteria

Selection of students for the MBA course of DoMS Madras is a two-step process:

Step 1: Shortlisting Process

The shortlisting process is dependent on the following parameters :

• CAT / GMAT score
• Past Academic Performance
• Work Experience
• Academic Diversity
• Gender

Applicants will be shortlisted based on the total score calculated by the institute. The CAT Cutoff for the MBA course is 96 percentile. 

Step 2: Final Selection

• The shortlisted candidates for all the categories are finally selected based on composite scores of the Virtual Interview.
• The final selection follows the below-listed components:

  • Other Achievements

DoMS Madras offers a 2-year Executive MBA program at the PG level. The institute offers the following specializations for EMBA course:

DoMS IIT Madras EMBA Eligibility 

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 60% marks from a recognized institute.
• Also, they must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience.

DoMS IIT Madras EMBA Selection Criteria

Candidates are selected for EMBA Admission based on the following factors:

• Application Data
• Personal Interview

NOTE: A few seats are available for company-sponsored candidates who have to submit sponsorship letters in the prescribed format from their employers.

DoMS IIT Madras also offers a one-year full-time residential PGPEX-VLM course. The course is conducted jointly by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras. 

DoMS IIT Madras PGPEX-VLM Eligibility 

• Candidates must have an Engineering degree with a first-class division.
• Also, candidates must have a minimum work experience of 4.5 (four and half years) to maximum 10 (ten) years in the manufacturing and related sector, research, design and development, quality control, plant engineering, maintenance, production planning and control, supply chain, etc

NOTE: There is no upper limit on work experience for sponsored candidates. 

DoMS IIT Madras PGPEX-VLM Selection Criteria

The candidates are shortlisted for PGPEX-VLM admission based on the following criteria: 

• Academic Background
• Work Experience
• Employer’s Recommendations

The candidates shortlisted on the basis of the above factors have to appear for Aptitude Test and Personal Interview which is conducted jointly by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Madras. The final selection is based on performance in the test and interview.

DoMS IIT, Madras offers PhD in 6 different specializations as tabulated below. The duration of the program is 4 to 5 years. 

DoMS IIT Madras PhD Eligibility

• Candidates must have a B.Tech or B.S or MBBS / BDS or M.Sc (Maths or Computer Science) Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent grade in Graduation.
• Also they must possess a valid score of CAT/ GATE/ UGC-JRF/ NET/ CSIR-JRF/ GRE/ GMAT

DoMS IIT Madras PhD Selection Criteria 

Selection to PhD courses is based on the following:

• Academic Performance
• CAT/ GATE/ UGC-JRF/ NET/ CSIR-JRF/ GRE/ GMAT Score
• Statement of Purpose & Research Proposal
• RAT and PI

On the day of PI, the institute can also conduct RAT which evaluates candidates on analytical, language, and research skills. RAT is an objective type test that may contain an essay-type question

NOTE: Candidates with 5-years of work experience and those having a ME/M.Tech degree or MS by research in Engg/ Tech are exempted from national level exams.

DoMS IIT Madras also offers MS by Research. The program is designed for those who want to start their research careers.

DoMS IIT Madras MS Eligibility 2024

• Candidates must have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
• Also, they must have a valid score of CAT/GATE/ GRE/ GMAT
• Candidates having work experience of 3-years are exempted from above exams.
