Pgdm At JAGsom - My Honest Take

Likes

The student crowd here is diverse as we have 3 different institutes like pgdm, bachelors and law.
There are ample amount of opportunities for exposure and networking in the college. The campus has various companies like infosys and yokogawa surrounding it.
The faculties are key factor of jagsom, they are well experienced in their field and teaching expertise. They explain things well and they are industrial experts of their own specific domains.

Dislikes

Sports facilities can be improved, there is a common ground which shares space for cricket, volleyball and football. The badminton court needs to be improved the most.
The distance between hostel and college is approximately of 5kms. so missing bus would turn out to be a headache.
The schedule is pretty hectic as sometimes there are also hour gaps between classes, so you have to stay back in college and most of your day is gone.

Internships Opportunities:

We had Blackrock, Informatica, KPMG, Zepto, VLCC, Wakefit and more participating in our IIP. Most students also get Pre placement offer from these companies and it depends on how the student performs in interviews and while working in internships. The stipend can be as low as 5k and can go as high as 25-35k.

Likes

Finance and Marketing faculty is top notch.
Festival celebration in hostel and mostly supporting seniors

Dislikes

Sometimes the schedule is quite hectic and stressful

As the final placements have already started in our college. Here are the companies I have heard, that have offered internships and placements - Classic of legends, aditya birla group, american express, infomric ratings, oracle etc..

Reasons to join or not join JAGSoM

Likes

Faculties here are excellent, they are available to guide us throughout the day
JAGSoMs continuous practice of developing students for the industry ready by conducting seminar's workshops etc
The work life balance that we have here. Even after rigorous academic we can get some time for ourselves

Dislikes

Mess food is sometimes pathetic. It's better to eat from outside those days

Internships Opportunities:

Placement cell of JAGSoM assist in internship opportunity. We have 100% internship placement for atleast 3 months for the batch of 2022-2024. Alongside internship JAGSoM opens opportunity for live projects for the students.

Good Exposure but not for better returns

Hostel life, meals, functions, events, Outing
Experienced faculties, curriculum and exam pattern
Hostel infrastructure, hostel ground and nearby localities

Dislikes

Placements are not that good. Packages provided by the companies do not meet your expectations
College infrastructure is not much attractive.
College name is not much popular among companies.

Internships Opportunities:

Different companies which came for internship includes Bosch, Kewaunee, Toyota, Herman, Bluestone etc. Which provided roles like sales intern, HR intern, business analytic intern and So on. There were many academic project which gave us real time problem solving skills, connecting with different corporate complete assignment and moving to market to look at how it really works.

I really liked the campus life we enjoyed alot and having a lots of fun.
Course curriculum is good just need to elaborate the syllabus
Hostel meals is good and managable for surviving 2 yrs

Dislikes

Placements are not great as they claims very high
Infrastructure is not that great college is very small and hostel is away from college
Faculties are not that supporting and helping in terms of placements

Internships Opportunities:

For internship most of the companies came are startup and maximum package offered is 30k and avg package offered is 15k. For my specialization business analyst and data analyst role came Gdpi and you must be eligible to take internship from college. Although I have taken my internship by my own only

JAGSoM provides intership opportunities that is called the IIP program under various industries, including: IT and services, management consulting, financial services, banking, FMCG & E- Commerce. Over 60% of the students receive "bolt-on-offers", where the company they intern with offers a full-time position upon graduation.

Faculty mentor, support staff, library, the most i loved is they teach you stress management and work management and work life balance. You have so much your plate on a given time that you get ready for corporate culture here only
Because In corporate you will be handling multiple jobs at a given time
Its best thing that you learn here only, i loved that

Dislikes

Somethimes work can be too much but its part of
Preparing you for the real world. Readymade to face the world
But its okay, somethimes gets stressful but we manage

Internships Opportunities:

Our college provides us with good internship opportunities. Companies like wow momo , AU small finance bank, oracle , hdfc , infomerics and many good startups of Banglore. We have good gdpi evaluation before sitting for interview that we are ready to face it

Best Choice for PGDM

Likes

A huge number of top notch faculty is there.
Lots of activities for personality enhancement.
Hostel ambience is just fabulous, and placment is amazing.

Dislikes

Less number of non veg food options in menu.
There is a less number of bus in specific times .
Schedule is little hectic but it helps us in growing.

Internships Opportunities:

Wow momo: Sales interns Hexware: Management Trainee Oracle: Management Trainnee Toyota: HR OLA: HR Tata Insights: Analytics There are also many projects completed by the students like in social immerssion program they worked on a water management issue and solve it. Also we have KANYATHON which is a charity program run by students for empowerment of girl child.

JAGSoM- Definitely the Best !

Likes

Curriculum is different but I think it's actually that impactful as stated by the college
Hostel is seriously good in terms of cleanliness, facilities, sports, foods etc.
Faculty are the best. starting from the in campus to the guest faculties all are top class.

Internships Opportunities:

Opportunities are available on the basis of career tracks. So people get what they want. from every career tarck there are specific role too. So students are segregated on the basis of that. So one needs to understand the diversity one can actually get. The college brings every type of company for every role that they provide. They make you ready for every interviews to GD's. More or less the college is with you untill & unless you're placed.
