Pgdm At JAGsom - My Honest Take

Likes

The student crowd here is diverse as we have 3 different institutes like pgdm, bachelors and law.
There are ample amount of opportunities for exposure and networking in the college. The campus has various companies like infosys and yokogawa surrounding it.
The faculties are key factor of jagsom, they are well experienced in their field and teaching expertise. They explain things well and they are industrial experts of their own specific domains.

Dislikes

Sports facilities can be improved, there is a common ground which shares space for cricket, volleyball and football. The badminton court needs to be improved the most.
The distance between hostel and college is approximately of 5kms. so missing bus would turn out to be a headache.
The schedule is pretty hectic as sometimes there are also hour gaps between classes, so you have to stay back in college and most of your day is gone.

Admission:

For me it was strategic location of the college, the curriculum like PEP, personality enhancement program which prepares you for interviews and improves your personality just like an mba or pgdm person needs. I didn't get rejected from any college, my plan was to go abroad but because of some issues I had to drop to idea. As for the admission process, you have to go through a GD and PI round and should have your entrance exam scores like CAT, MAT or NMAT.

Faculty are the one key element of the jagsom that not another can beat
The amount of opportunity in term of developing ourselves are the best
The curriculum is Bespoke which allow us to design the course based on our wish and goal

Dislikes

Hatic life as they have more to offer but we less time

Admission:

Other colleges don't have the faculties JAGSOM has. One of the specialities of JAGSoM is their personality enhancement Program which enables the student to work their weak areas. The admission process includes an eligible test score after a group discussion round, and lastly the personal interview .

Likes

Finance and Marketing faculty is top notch.
Festival celebration in hostel and mostly supporting seniors

Dislikes

Sometimes the schedule is quite hectic and stressful

Here are my reasons for selecting this college:- 1 st . This college is situated in electronic city banaglore which gives it a location advantage. 2nd. The faculty is as better as any other top college.

Reasons to join or not join JAGSoM

Likes

Faculties here are excellent, they are available to guide us throughout the day
JAGSoMs continuous practice of developing students for the industry ready by conducting seminar's workshops etc
The work life balance that we have here. Even after rigorous academic we can get some time for ourselves

Dislikes

Mess food is sometimes pathetic. It's better to eat from outside those days

Admission:

I applied to Welingkar business school, Mumbai but JAGSoM seems to be far better in terms of faculties and facilities. As it is the residential program so there is continuous interaction between the students which helps in overall development of students. We have 4 steps admission process, which includes Group Exercise, Personal Interview, Shoulder panel interview and JagMat exam

My review is honest based on 2 years of MBA Journey Experience

Likes

Faculty which they are providing is good. They also provide faculty from industry which are having an experience in corporate of more than 15 years. They give us depth learning which helps in terms of Practical life. The exposure is also good .
They give us the subscription of business standard which help us to know what is happening in day to day life. Also, it helps us in increasing the knowledge power. It helps us in debate as well when we give our points and express our views.
Another thing which i liked is that we have a very diverse background and people are from different cultures. The quality of education which they are providing is very different from other b schools. They have a career track program of 3 months

Dislikes

The Placements which they are showing in their brochure is not correct. However, they are mentioning the average ctc is 13.00 lacs which is truly wrong.
The Management don't take the right decision. Most of the time they have done Goofup. Also, there are so many times things changes at the last minute and this happens because of miscommunication.

Admission:

it was okay. it includes Group exercise, Jagmat test, PI Round 1 and PI Round 2. There was Shoulder Panelist and Shoulder Batch as well. it was a very fun process including everything. They interact with the students to know more about them.

Good Exposure but not for better returns

Hostel infrastructure, hostel ground and nearby localities

Dislikes

Placements are not that good. Packages provided by the companies do not meet your expectations
College infrastructure is not much attractive.
College name is not much popular among companies.

Admission:

Must have completed Bachelor degree. Every details you van find on College website. Mid term will be conducted in every 45 days and End term exam will be conducted in every 3 months. The quality of personal interview questions should be increased.

I really liked the campus life we enjoyed alot and having a lots of fun.
Course curriculum is good just need to elaborate the syllabus
Hostel meals is good and managable for surviving 2 yrs

Dislikes

Placements are not great as they claims very high
Infrastructure is not that great college is very small and hostel is away from college
Faculties are not that supporting and helping in terms of placements

Admission:

3 rounds are there. 1st round - examination (JAGMAT) 2nd round - seniors will take interview 3rd round - faculties will take interview Apart from this you must need score card of CAT/XAT/MAT This is compulsory to get into this college and you can directly apply from college website application form will be there. If you qualify jagmat exam well you will get scholorship. And there is no other reservation. JAGMAT is 1hr exam and it is not that tough.

A Solid Choice for Industry-Ready Graduates.

It has a well-regarded curriculum with a focus on practical learning and industry exposure.
The faculty seems to be accomplished and experienced, with a focus on global business trends.
The school emphasizes " curriculum 4.0" which equips students with skills relevant to the changing job market.

Admission:

For two year PGDM programs, there are various eligibility criterias like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT and JAGMAT. JAGMAT ia a requirement at the time of selection process. The application form, fees and the dates are provided in the website. JAGMAT is an aptitude test which comprises of 3 sections- 1)English Language proficiency 2) Quantitative aptitude 3) Logical reasoning The total marks is 75 and each section will be of 25 marks. the duration of the test is 90 minutes. Then the next is GE which is the group exercise. Then next is the shoulder panel interview which is a personal interview with our shoulder batch as well as there is a personal interview with three panelists ( 1 falculty, 1 alumni and 1 industry expert).

Faculty mentor, support staff, library, the most i loved is they teach you stress management and work management and work life balance. You have so much your plate on a given time that you get ready for corporate culture here only
Because In corporate you will be handling multiple jobs at a given time
Its best thing that you learn here only, i loved that

Dislikes

Somethimes work can be too much but its part of
Preparing you for the real world. Readymade to face the world
But its okay, somethimes gets stressful but we manage

Admission:

Eligibility for this course was geting above 50% in Jagdish sheth school of management entrance examinations that is the JAGMAT which is compulsory criteria for admission process next is the group discussion and personal interview round which was a very seemless process and better than any other colleges which i appeared.

The process starts with JAGMAT(70 marks) followed by group exercise followed by shoulder panel interview followed by personal interview. The questions vary from basic academic to abstract questions. One drives the interview and confidence always helps.
