BITS Pilani MBA Business Analytics Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, with minimum 60% in aggregate or equivalent CGPA in the Qualifying Degree.
• The applicant should have taken mathematics/statistics as a subject in 12th standard with at least 60% marks in either of these subjects.

BITS Pilani MBA Business Analytics Selection Process

• Interview Calls to shortlisted candidates for the MBA Business Analytics program will be granted as per BAAT (Business Analytics Aptitude Test) conducted by BITS Pilani
• Final Merit List for admission to MBA Business Analytics program of BITS Pilani will be granted as per the candidate’s overall performance in BAAT, Personal Interview, valid CAT/XAT/GMAT Score, Prior work Experience, and Candidate’s Academic Profile. 

Business Analytics Aptitude Test (BAAT) Syllabus

The Business Analytics Aptitude Test (BAAT) for admission to the Two-year (on-campus) MBA in Business Analytics in the Academic Year 2024-25 compriseD of a) Management Aptitude Section and b) Analytics Aptitude Section. The syllabus and pattern is as follows:

• Management Aptitude Section: This section will measure management aptitude in three areas–Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning. The duration of this section of the test will be 2 hours and the questions will be multiple choice.
• Verbal Ability: Verbal Reasoning, Sentence completion, Grammar, Syllogisms, Jumbled paragraphs, Para Completion and inference, Contextual usage, Foreign language words used in English, Reading Comprehension, Analogies, Sentence correction, Verbal Logic, Different usage of same word, Idioms, Parajumbles, Antonyms.
• Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning: Blood Relations, Series, Proposition, Direction Sense, Coding-Decoding, Assumptions, Puzzles, Clocks and Calendars, Statements, Data Arrangement, Family Tree, Binary Logic, Seating Arrangement, Sets & Caselets, Syllogism, Venn Diagram, Data Structures, Tables & Pie Charts, Data Sufficiency, Bars & Line Graphs.
• Quantitative Aptitude: Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra, Mensuration, Partnership (Accounts), Profit & Loss, Ratios and Proportion, In-equations Quadratic and linear equations, Surds and Indices, TimeSpeed-Distance, Number System, Geometric Progression, Inequalities, Work and Time, Percentages, Logarithms.

b) Analytics Aptitude Section: The objective of the analytics aptitude test is to check candidate’s basic aptitude on computers and mathematics. The duration of the test may be of 1 hour and the questions will be of multiple choice from Matrices; Linear Algebra; Coordinate geometry in two dimensions, Basic Differential and Integral Calculus; Numerical Analysis; Probability and combination; Fundamental Programming Concepts; Basic Data Structures (arrays, lists, stacks, and queues); Boolean Algebra.

The subject wise distribution of the questions for BAAT is as follows:

Department of Management, BITS, Pilani offers Part-time and Full-Time Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program under several specializations to the candidates. Those who have completed MBA/ ME/ M.Pharm/ M.Phil. from BITS or its equivalent with at least 60% aggregate marks are eligible for Ph.D admission. Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of their performance in the Ph.D.entrance test conducted by BITS, Pilani.

• Ph.D. entrance test is of 3 hours duration and 400 marks.
• Candidates who hold MSc/ BE or its equivalent degree with minimum 60% aggregate marks shall take provisional admission to the course.
• Candidates having M.Phil./MA degree with minimum 55% aggregate are considered eligible for admission to Ph.D. in Humanities and Languages.
• Working candidates with an experience of minimum 1 year can also opt for part-time Ph.D. program offered by the institute upon submitting a “No Objection Certificate”.
• Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC-NET are given preference during the admission into Full-time Ph.D. program.
