Kokrajhar Govt. College was established in 1959, located in Kokrajhar, Assam. The college started providing education only in Arts stream formerly. The college started providing degree courses in the field of science from 1964. The college is affiliated with Gauhati University.

The college offers only UG level courses in the field of Arts and Sciences. Bachelor of Arts (B.A) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in General and Major in each of them, are offered by the college. Candidates can have specializations in each of the programme, provided by the college.

Selection of the candidates for the courses mentioned above is made purely on the basis of their obtained marks in 10+2 level exam from a recognized academic institution.

The college offers Bachelor of Arts (B.A) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) at graduate level. There are two segments in both the programmes, Major and General. Duration of each of the courses is three years, whether it is Major or General.

Candidates interested to get admission in B.A and B.Sc Major must need to secure 45% or more than that in 10+2 level exam. The candidates seeking admission in B.A and B.Sc General need to have minimum 40% marks in 10+2 level exam. The candidates seeking admission in Bodo must have at least 50% marks in concerned subject and 45% in aggregate.

Selection of the candidates for the courses mentioned above, is made purely on the basis of their obtained marks in 10+2 level exam from a recognized academic institution.

Kokrajhar Government College, Kokrajhar

Admission:

I chose this college because this is the only government college in our town. Other colleges are private and they charge high amount of admission fees, monthly tution fees and other high charges are also included. This college is reputed and affordable. I applied for only this college and got selection at once. The process of admission is simple as every other colleges. The eligibility for admission depends on the percentage you've secured in your 12th exam.

Things to Know about Kokrajhar Govt College

Admission:

Admission process is very smooth. If you get good marks and got selected on the 1st or 2nd selection list then the process is very smooth. But if you've got low marks and want to take admission through spot admission, then you need to compete a little with others. Reservation facilities are there for OBC/MOBC, SC/ST, EWS, PWD etc.

Sometimes it becomes difficult for bpl students to cover up admission fees when we don't get income certificate at time

Admission:

Admission are done on Merit basis it follows strict rules and procedures one can't get admission directly and need to go through process. Reservations are there for ST, SC, OBC, Sports quota, Ncc quota, etc. Exam are three hours for 80 marks questions are little tough. The improvement we need is students should get admission on their merit basis and no other with merit list should get direct admission and there should be a little reservation for its own passout students

Admission:

The admission forms are available online as well as in campus, with lot of days to complete the procedure. There are reserved seats available with more focus on bodo people as the college is in BTR but there is chance for general people to get admitted too.

My College Days

Admission:

The Cut-off in 2016 was 50% for UR category students and 45% for other resevered categories. The College provies Bacherlors in Arts and Science and they cover almost all the subjects. The form during our time was available offline but now it is completely online. And the admission is done offline
