AWH College of Education, Calicut was established in 1996, offering  B.Ed Special Education (Hearing Impaired) course which is only one of its kind in the whole Kerala state and later on started more courses. AWH College of Education is a Teacher Educators Institution which is the only one of its kind in Kerala, imparting B.Ed Degree course in Special Education and B.Ed General as well. The institute prepares efficient and sufficient educators for various fields of education. The mission of the Association for Welfare of the Handicapped is to facilitate rehabilitation of differently-able people and welfare of women in distress and children. The college aim is to producing socially inclined, morally and ethically upright, professionally skilled and dedicated educators of tomorrow. In addition to the routine curricular programme prescribed by the university the college aims at providing various opportunities and exposure to bring out and develop optimum professional competency.
