The total programme fee for Indian participants is INR 24,86,000, covering tuition and basic hostel accommodation. At SPJIMR, mess charges, travel expenses, and personal expenses are charged separately.

📋 Admission Status: Admissions expected to open in September 2026 (Tentative) for the 2027-29 batch.

Key Points

  • PGDM students select a Major specialisation from Finance, Information Management, Marketing, or Operations, along with a Minor specialisation from a different functional area during the second year.
  • PGDM (BM) is designed as a general management programme without a mandatory functional specialisation. It is suited for candidates interested in cross-functional leadership roles, business management, entrepreneurship, and family business leadership.
  • The second year offers opportunities such as the Global Fast Track with partner institutions abroad and a structured corporate internship, depending on eligibility and programme requirements.
  • Admission requires a valid CAT or GMAT score. For domestic applicants, the minimum qualifying CAT cutoff is 85 percentile overall with 75 percentile in each section.

SPJIMR PGDM FAQs

Ques. Is SPJIMR Mumbai PGDM-BM worth choosing over the flagship PGDM if I'm still unsure about my specialization?

Ans. If you are unsure about your specialization, SPJIMR’s flagship PGDM may be a better choice because it offers more flexibility and a broader learning experience. PGDM (BM) is a strong option for students interested in business management roles. Consider your career goals, preferred learning style, and interest areas before deciding.

Ques. How much does the SPJIMR selection process actually weigh the CAT score versus the personal interview?

Ans. Unlike many IIMs where CAT score heavily drives shortlisting, SPJIMR runs a profile-based Phase 1 shortlist before CAT results are declared. The 85th percentile minimum is a qualifying floor, not a ranking factor. Once you clear it, the weight split is roughly: CAT or GMAT 40-50%, academics 20-25%, work experience 10-15%, interview 20-30%, and diversity 5-10%. A candidate at 87 percentile with a strong narrative can outperform one at 97 percentile with a weak interview.

Ques. How does SPJIMR’s 48% Pre-Placement Offer rate affect the final placement season for an incoming student?

Ans. Pre-Placement Offers come from Summer Internship companies in Year 1. When 48% of the batch locks employment early, companies compete for a smaller remaining pool in the final season, which tends to drive package offers upward. For an incoming student, this signals that your Summer Internship performance is the most reliable path to a strong outcome. Treat the internship as your most important recruitment test at SPJIMR.

Ques. What are the Centres of Practice at SPJIMR and how do they differ from standard elective courses?

Ans. SPJIMR runs four Centres of Practice in Sustainability, Family Business, Emerging Technology, and Leadership Wisdom. Unlike elective courses, CoPs involve live projects woven into the curriculum. Students may work on a real sustainability audit for a corporate client or engage with family business case studies through the dedicated CoP. These feed into the Immersive Experiences credit component in Year 1, distinguishing SPJIMR from programmes built entirely on classroom case methods.

Ques. Is the Global Fast Track included in the INR 24,86,000 programme fee or is it an additional cost?

Ans. The Global Fast Track is optional and its costs are not included in the base fee. Students who participate spend time at a partner institution abroad, but tuition differential, airfare, and accommodation are all billed separately. The INR 24,86,000 covers full domestic completion of the degree with no hidden additions. GFT is an upgrade students can choose after joining. Factor this in when evaluating total cost if international exposure is a priority for you.
