Ques. What is the difference between PGDM Business Analytics and a traditional MBA?
Ans. PGDM Business Analytics is more practical and industry-focused compared to traditional MBA programs. While MBA is more theoretical, PGDM emphasizes hands-on learning with real-world projects and industry mentorship. The PGDM curriculum is specifically designed for data-driven decision making with specialized focus on analytics tools, programming languages, and machine learning algorithms.
Ques. Is work experience required for admission?
Ans. No, work experience is not mandatory. The program welcomes both freshers (68% of the batch) and experienced professionals (32% of the batch). However, candidates must have a valid entrance exam score (CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, or GMAT) and meet the minimum 50% marks in graduation requirement.
Ques. What programming languages and tools are taught in the program?
Ans. The program provides comprehensive training in R, Python, SQL, and Advanced Excel. Students also learn data visualization tools including Tableau, Power BI, JASP, and BlueSky Statistics. Additionally, students gain exposure to machine learning frameworks, natural language processing tools, and business intelligence platforms.
Ques. What are the specialization options available?
Ans. Students can choose specialization in one of four areas: Marketing Analytics, Finance Analytics, Operations Analytics, or Human Resources Analytics. These specializations allow students to apply analytics concepts to specific business functions and develop domain expertise.
Ques. What is the placement scenario for Research and Business Analytics graduates?
Ans. The program has a 100% placement rate with strong average salaries around ‚Çπ10 Lakhs per annum. Graduates secure roles as Business Analysts, Data Scientists, Analytics Consultants, and Data Analysts across leading organizations in IT, finance, consulting, and analytics sectors. Ques. How does the capstone project work?
Ans. The capstone project is a major component where students work on real-world analytics problems under joint supervision of an industry mentor and faculty supervisor. Ques. Are there any entrance exam requirements?
Ans. Yes, candidates must have valid scores from CAT (2025), XAT (2026), ATMA (Feb 2026), CMAT (2026), or GMAT (2023 onwards). The minimum cutoff for Research and Business Analytics specialization is 75 percentile for CAT/XAT/GMAT and 80 score for ATMA/CMAT on Bangalore campus.
