Placement wise it's a good college. AVG package is around 4 to 5 lacks. But it depends upon which branch you are referring to. Computer and IT branch avg package may go up to 4 to 5.
Companies do come for placements but getting placed in your core company with a good package is the real challenge. Else you will be placed with the minimal package and at a place where you will have no interest.
If you have sound skills in coding and have a few achievements marked on your resume, I believe you can get a handsome package.
Coming back to the mass recruits, they also play a major role in placements same as in other colleges.
Concluding I would say if you score a good CGPA in your exams you will certainly get placed.
Companies visited are as a follows:-BSA corporation, Jindal soft seating ltd, SGS technology, Videocon,d\Digvi Warner, capstone security (2 times), IBM India (2 times), Suzlon LTD, etc.

That's really good and the main criteria is u gotta have 60% average on all the semisters to take up the placements. Some companies do offer a good package. Companies came like Kirloskar Brothers, Capgemini, Sah Petroleum, Krawler Network, ICICI Securities, PTC Software Pvt Ltd., Supreme Petrochem, C- DAC, Pune, Deutsche Bank, Vyom Labs, Motilal Oswal, MindStix Software Labs, Adani Group, Percive Tech Pvt Ltd., Amara raja Group of Companies, Medulla Health Care etc.
