Admission to JSS Academy of Technical Education for the MCA program is secured through the UPSEE examination, involving a state-level entrance exam and a counselling process. The college faculty is generally well-regarded, although there are areas needing improvement, especially in the MCA program. Classes are held six days a week with a 70% attendance requirement. The MCA fee structure was approximately ?92,000 in 2014, and although considered average compared to other engineering colleges under AKTU, some find it high for the quality offered.

Scholarships and a loan facility help manage costs, with many students benefiting from scholarships over 50,000 INR.
