Ques. What is the minimum and maximum duration for the Ph.D. (Management Studies) programme at GRDCS, and what happens if I cannot complete it within the minimum period?
Ans. The Ph.D. programme at GRDCS (under Bharathiar University) has a minimum duration of 3 years and a maximum of 6 years, including course work. If a scholar cannot complete the programme within 3 years, they may continue up to 6 years, subject to the relevant clauses in Bharathiar University's statutes and ordinances. Extensions beyond 6 years are governed by specific institutional regulations and require formal approval. Scholars are advised to plan their research timeline carefully and maintain regular communication with their guide to ensure timely completion.
Ques. Is it mandatory to have an M.Phil. degree to apply for Ph.D. (Management Studies) at GRDCS?
Ans. No, an M.Phil. degree is not mandatory for Ph.D. admission at GRDCS. Candidates with a Master's degree (PG) in Management or a relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks are eligible to apply directly for the Ph.D. programme. However, M.Phil. holders have an advantage as they are eligible for an integrated pathway and may have a reduced administrative fee. Candidates with M.Phil. course work completed (even if the viva voce is pending) are also eligible to apply.

Ans. The total fees for Ph.D. Full Time (with M.Phil.) at GRDCS, as prescribed by Bharathiar University, are approximately Rs. 28,470 for the minimum 3-year duration. This includes a one-time Doctoral Committee Fee of Rs. 8,000 and a refundable Caution Deposit of Rs. 1,500. Recurring annual charges include Tuition Fee (Rs. 4,620 per year), Group Insurance (Rs. 140 per year), and Internet Fee (Rs. 1,400 per year). If the programme extends beyond 3 years, these annual charges will apply for each additional year. The college may also levy additional institutional charges over and above the university fees.

Ans. The Bharathiar University Common Eligibility Test (CET) is the standard entrance route for Ph.D. admissions at Bharathiar University affiliated colleges including GRDCS. However, candidates who have qualified UGC-NET with JRF or SLET/SET are typically exempted from the CET requirement, as per UGC regulations.
