SVPCET B.Tech IoT FAQs
Ques. What is Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and why is it important?
Ans. Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) refers to the use of IoT technologies in industrial sectors and applications with emphasis on machine-to-machine communication, big data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. IIoT is crucial for Industry 4.0 and finds applications in agriculture, oil and gas, smart logistics, autonomous vehicles, power management, quality control, smart robotics, and aviation industries. The field is experiencing rapid growth with promising career prospects as industries increasingly adopt IIoT technologies for automation and efficiency.
Ques. What is the total cost of the B.Tech Internet of Things program at SVPCET?
Ans. The total fees for the 4-year B.Tech Internet of Things program is approximately 5.49 lakhs for the general category. However, the final fees for AY 2025-2026 will be declared by the Fee Regulating Authority (FRA), Government of Maharashtra. General category students pay approximately 1.30 lakhs annually, with additional charges for registration (1,000), uniform (5,600), and examination fees (4,500 per year). Additionally, scholarships under the Mahadbt scheme and other government schemes can further reduce the financial burden for eligible students.
Ques. What are the placement prospects for B.Tech Internet of Things graduates?
Ans. The program has strong placement prospects with an average package of 4-8 LPA and highest package of 14 LPA (as of 2022). The placement rate is between 85-95 percent. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th-7th semester onwards. The college has an excellent placement cell and provides numerous internship opportunities both on-campus and off-campus. The program's focus on emerging IIoT technologies makes graduates highly attractive to employers in manufacturing, energy, logistics, and automation sectors.
Ques. What are the admission requirements for B.Tech Internet of Things at SVPCET?
Ans. Candidates must have passed HSC (10+2) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or related subjects. A minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) is required. Candidates must also obtain a non-zero score in MHT CET 2026 (for Maharashtra state candidates) or JEE Main 2026 (for all-India candidates). The admission process is conducted through the CAP system with multiple rounds. The MHT-CET cutoff for Internet of Things ranges from 73.63 to 83.72 percentile.
Ques. What is the curriculum focus of the Internet of Things program?
Ans. The B.Tech Internet of Things program at SVPCET focuses on sensors, communication technologies, computational processing, and their applications in industrial sectors. The curriculum emphasizes machine-to-machine communication, big data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The program is designed as a multidisciplinary confluence of computer science, electronics, and industrial engineering. Students work on practical projects involving IoT applications in agriculture, logistics, autonomous vehicles, power management, and robotics, ensuring they develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Ques. Does the college provide industry exposure and internship opportunities?
Ans. Yes, the Internet of Things department provides extensive industry exposure through collaborations with industry partners. Students get opportunities to work on real-world IoT projects, participate in industrial training, and receive mentoring by industry experts. The college's Career Development Centre (CDC) coordinates internship placements and provides guidance throughout the process. Students have access to numerous internship opportunities both on-campus and off-campus, which depend on their skills and performance. These opportunities provide practical industry experience and significantly enhance students' technical skills and employability in the IIoT field.
