In 2017, a student secured admission to United Institute of Engineering and Technology, Allahabad, through the UPSEE Entrance Examination with a rank of around 50,000, choosing the Mechanical Engineering department for its strong reputation. The faculty is well-regarded, particularly in Mechanical Engineering, where methods are innovative and supportive, though some students find the discipline overly strict. The Electronics department is less well-rated. The college is affiliated with AKTU Lucknow, and exams are manageable for diligent students.
The college offers affordable tuition at approximately Rs 97,000 per year, with hostel fees around Rs 50,000. Fees can vary each year by Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000 and can be paid per semester. Students with high UPSEE scores may receive reduced fees. Around 70% of students eventually pursue further studies rather than placements, as the placement rate is below 70%. Companies such as BYJUS, JINDAL, and WIPRO visit for recruitment, although selection is limited, and internships are not provided.
Placement eligibility starts from the fourth semester, focusing mainly on SME and MSME companies. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA, and the lowest was 1.5 LPA, with only about 1% securing campus placements. Paid internships are available with partners, costing between 500 to 5000 INR. Scholarships are available based on family income and UPTU rank. Students with family incomes below 1.5 lakhs receive a 50,000 INR fee refund and 14,400 INR as pocket money.
SC/ST students can receive up to 98,000 INR, while General and OBC students receive 50,000 to 60,000 INR. Scholarships are annual, though there is a consistent increase in fees each year. The bus fee is set at 22,000 INR.
