Yes, but that s very few . internships were offered earlier,but now they are rare. Only top 5-6 students attain paid internship in companies like thermax,tata power,vedanta or they have to arrange on their own.

Tata power give internship for meritorious student 6000 for internship plant visit by college in 5th semester college give chance for plant visit and in next sem power training by college so there are many training and internship program for student so don't worry about training because its name is college for training institute (npti) famus for power engineering.
