03 Dec, 2025 MHT CET will now be conducted twice a year from 2026 onwards for Engineering, Pharmacy, and Management courses. The first session for PCM Group is tentatively scheduled from April 11 to April 19. For PCB Group, the exam is expected from April 21 to April 26, 2026. Check details. 

The National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Nagpur, admission for the Post Graduate Diploma in Power Plant Engineering (PGDC) has started for 2025. The PGDC Programme has both challenging theoretical components and ample opportunities for practical experience using simulators, plant visits, as well as modules which deal with industry-related matters. There are a total of 16 modules in the course, with core modules covering Thermal Power Plant Operations, Electrical Efficiency, Power System Management, Energy Management, and Environment-Friendly Practices.

Selection will be based on merit only, and selection will be via a nationwide online entrance examination conducted by NPTI Corporate Office. Candidates must hold a B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, EEE, or equivalent disciplines from an AICTE-approved institution. A candidate's position in their entrance exam will inform whether they might be allocated a seat at NPTI Nagpur.

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Power Plant Engineering (PGDC)

Eligibility Criteria:

Bachelors's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electrical & Electronics or equivalent discipline (B.E./B.E.).

This must be from an AICTE recognised institution or university.

Although there is no minimum criterion percentage, it is important to see which candidates have the best potential.

Selection Criteria:

  • Selection will be based on the performance of each candidate in the online entrance test NPTI Corporate Office.
  • Merit will be based on the test score and availability of seats.
  • Most often favour will be given to candidates who have GATE marks (however, this is not essential).
  • Once selected for the course candidates must show documentation and make a payment for the course.
  • Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Power Engineering

Eligibility Criteria:

a) Must have achieved 10+2 (or equivalent) with consistent marks of 75 per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).

b) Application for admission requires that the candidate has appeared in JEE Mains 2025.

c) It is important to note that the candidates must meet eligibility norms of RTM Nagpur and AICTE guidelines.

Selection Criteria:

a) Admission will be through the centralized admission process through DTE Maharashtra based on the JEE Main Marks provided to the DTE, the candidate's MHT-CET score(s).

National Power Training Institute, Nagpur Admission Procedure 2025

The admission process varies by course at National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Nagpur. For the Post Graduate Diploma in Power Plant Engineering (PGDC), candidates still need to complete online registration on the NPTI website before applying. After completing the application process and paying the fee, the applicant will sit for an entrance exam conducted by NPTI Corporate Office at Faridabad, which tests their basic engineering knowledge in either Mechanical or Electrical. NPTI makes a merit list based on a test score and calls the best candidates for counseling. Candidates are finally selected based on the verification of the documents and payment of fees.

For B.E. in Power Engineering candidates, they must qualify for JEE Main 2025 exam. Eligible students will have to give their preference for colleges while registering for centralized counseling, which is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra.
