Goreswar College was established in the year 1974 and situated in the North-eastern part of Baska District. It is affiliated to Gauhati University and approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). It offers Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Mass Communication (B.M.C.) and Computer Application programme at graduate, Certificate, Diploma level. The main objective of college is to provide Higher Education to the society and provide quality education to the students and thereby equip them with the necessary skills and know-how to face the diverse challenges of time.
