GSSSIETW Ph.D Information Science & Engineering: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. The Doctor of Philosophy in Information Science and Engineering at GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women is a minimum 3-year research programme under VTU affiliation. The programme covers information systems, machine learning, big data analytics, cybersecurity, and software engineering through doctoral coursework and original research culminating in a thesis. GSSSIETW is AICTE-approved and NAAC A accredited.

Ans. The annual research fee is INR 61,200, totalling INR 1,83,600 for the minimum 3-year doctoral programme, as per VTU research-scholar norms. Hostel and other charges are payable separately.

Ans. Applicants must hold M.E or M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Science, or an allied computing discipline from a recognised university with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates). A valid GATE or NET/SET score may be required or provide exemption from the VTU entrance test.

Ans. Admission is through the VTU research entrance test followed by an interview before the doctoral committee at GSSSIETW. Candidates with valid GATE/NET/SET scores may be exempt from the entrance test subject to VTU norms. Both full-time and part-time modes are available.

Ans. Doctoral graduates can pursue roles as research scientist, academician, data engineer, cybersecurity specialist, and systems analyst in academia, research institutions, and industry. Ans. Karnataka-domicile SC/ST scholars are eligible for full fee reimbursement. Institutional research fellowships are available subject to eligibility. Education loans are available through leading nationalised banks, and central research schemes such as AICTE/UGC support may be available for eligible scholars.

Ans. GSSSIETW is affiliated to VTU, Belagavi, AICTE-approved, and NAAC A accredited. VTU recognises GSSSIETW as a research centre for doctoral programmes including Information Science and Engineering. The degree is awarded by VTU and is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.
