Ques. Is the GSSSIETW M.Tech degree valid for PhD admissions at VTU?
Ans. Yes. GSSSIETW is a VTU-affiliated institution and its M.Tech degree meets the eligibility criteria for doctoral admissions at VTU and most recognised Indian universities. Graduates with the required aggregate may apply to VTU research centres directly.
Ques. Is M.Tech at GSSSIETW open to men?
Ans. No. GSSSIETW is Karnataka’s first exclusive women’s engineering institution. All programmes including M.Tech are open to women candidates only. Male candidates are not eligible.
Ques. What is the difference between M.Tech CSE and M.Tech DCN at GSSSIETW?
Ans. M.Tech CSE focuses on algorithms, machine learning, and distributed systems, suited to software and research roles. M.Tech Digital Communication and Networking covers wireless networks, signal processing, and network protocols, suited to telecom and networking careers. Both programmes run for 2 years at a fee of INR 2,15,000.
Ques. Is GATE mandatory for M.Tech admission at GSSSIETW?
Ans. No. Karnataka PGCET is the primary route for PGCET-quota seats allotted through KEA counselling. A valid GATE score is accepted for GATE-quota or management-quota admission. Candidates without GATE scores can apply through PGCET alone.
Ques. What is the PGCET counselling status for GSSSIETW M.Tech 2026?
Ans. Karnataka PGCET M.Tech results are expected on 8 July 2026. KEA counselling is scheduled for August to September 2026, after which seat allotment takes place. Classes are expected to commence in October 2026.
Ques. Are hostel facilities available for GSSSIETW M.Tech students?
Ans. Hostel availability for M.Tech students should be confirmed directly with GSSSIETW. Hostel charges are not included in the programme fee of INR 2,15,000 and are payable separately if availed.
