Q1. Do I need JEE Main to apply for B.Tech Lateral (LEET) CSE (AI & ML) at DAVIET?
Ans. No, JEE Main is not required for B.Tech Lateral Entry (LEET) at DAVIET. Admission is based on inter-se merit in the qualifying diploma or B.Sc. examination. This makes it accessible to diploma holders who did not appear in JEE Main.
Q2. Can a diploma holder from a non-CSE branch apply for B.Tech Lateral CSE (AI & ML) at DAVIET?
Ans. Yes, as per IKG PTU norms, diploma holders from ANY branch of engineering/technology are eligible to apply for B.Tech Lateral entry, regardless of their diploma specialization. The admission is based on merit in the qualifying diploma examination.
Q3. What is the difference between B.Tech (Regular) and B.Tech Lateral at DAVIET?
Ans. B.Tech Regular is a 4-year program starting from the 1st year, requiring JEE Main for admission. B.Tech Lateral is a 3-year program where eligible diploma/B.Sc. holders directly enter the 2nd year, saving one year. The final B.Tech degree awarded is the same from IKG PTU.
