The curriculum and syllabus was decided to be the one of its kind. I personally really liked the syllabus of my course. It provided me with some of the exquisitely chosen texts that not only helped me academically but changed my point of view towards the real world as well. However, the syllabus and curriculum of English hons is pretty lengthy and you need to be a good reader in order to cope with the syllabus in the given time. There are only end semester exams in between which you are given a number of assignments which help you inculcate and develop research and analytical skills in you. All in all, the curriculum, examination and internals, together make a perfect combination.

I wanted to pursue a literature course...as I wanted to be a reader...and I knew that in this course I would be bound to read novels and prose...and eventually reading will become my habit....and that happened also. This course allows us to think on a deeper level and to know the raw reality of a certain period...like the culture of society or the myths that prevailed at that time.

The exam time was good plus nervous for the freshers. But once you get the idea you know how to deal with it. The faculty was accommodating according to the student ratio. Our English faculty was a family to us. The lectures were awesome and we got leaders in terms of our professors. The teaching methodology is everyone's own. The professors were quite supportive and helpful. Semester-based exams were conducted.
I chose this course because first of all it opens up a lot of opportunities and a lot of good career options for you and it helps me enhance my communication skills as well as my critical thinking skills which are highly appreciated in a good career future. As everything is going on online during this pandemic, we couldn't have face-to-face interactive classes. But still, I would say that the faculty of Dyal Singh College (Morning) is very brilliant and fine and are exceedingly qualified professors. And the student-teacher interaction (even if it is online) is highly appreciable. Talking about the term exams, I would say they were organized quite well by the Delhi University faculty and were much better than our expectations, and were hassle-free.
The reason I chose, BA English was because of my interest in literature and as I am an avid reader. A student of BA English must be prepared to tackle a lot of readings, Classic literature, and critical analysis of said literature. The Faculty of Dyal Singh is experienced and helpful. They are strict towards marks, as they expect the best from their students. Most of the members of the faculty have a doctorate, while everyone has a master's in English. Exams are scheduled twice a year, while mid-terms are taken before each semester's examination.
The college offers a variety of different courses, I chose B.A.(hons) English, the syllabus was specified and introduced very quickly in every semester. The faculty was good they were always there to help students.
The English Faculty of the college was good. I don't know about others but our teachers did there best. Industrial visits aren't necessarily while studying English,we just travel the whole world while studying literature in the class.
