The main reason I choose this course because I heard that geology is based on earth's history. I love to study about earth and interior of the earth . This is very close to my heart. Every year atleast one field work is done by our college so we can study well

DGC-The best college

Likes

The environment, the seniors, the teachers, the faculty members, the students everything about DGC feels magical. The place feels surreal, with the different attributes such as the open spaces and the staff quarters the best college of Govt. durgapu
The canteen and the amount of good people you will find around you, will make you bring the best out of yourself. All the people inside the capus the quite helpful. While having a rough or tired day the trees and the emotions will make you happy

Dislikes

Probably the infrastructure because the buildings are quite old and needs a proper makeover, also the canteen facilities were closed for quite a long time but anyways opened a few days back but has nothing to offer except chip, cakes tea or biscuits.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being a student of Carmel, English was kind of my primary language with my mother tongue. DGC is famous for its English faculty and has one of the best facilities in the college. Being the only govt. College in paschim burdwan, it makes the college first preference of many students but the registration process consists only of a great percentage.

All about Durgapur government college

Likes

Our college is situated in a centre of natural resources
Faculty members are well qualified and so much friendly
Our college have their own volleyball court and football ground

Dislikes

There are no AC in every classroom but only in a few classroom
Football ground is always covered with jungle plants
No good hotels and restaurants near the college

I found my course very much interesting. Curriculum prepares us in a good way for real world applications. Everything is already nicely improved. Exams are quite easy if you study thoroughly whole semester

The Superficial Experience in College

Likes

The college has good discipline in any department
The college is so natural bassed means so much tree on the campus
The college is ragging free and the other senior are so good

Dislikes

Distance between my home and college is too long
I have to spend more time to attend the college
Some departments are not willing good behaviour

The campus is ragging free! You will get a free and safe environment to study.
Professors are highly qualified and they will give their 100% to make you understand the concept.
Studying in this college will be budget friendly. It is affordable and is under State Government.

Dislikes

The campus is union biased! But it was are into studies, you'll definitely face no issues.

The course which I opted for was B.Sc in Economics with an honors. Economics is a subject which will directly connect with the real world. It's really important to know the growth and development of your country and how can you contribute to make your country better. You'll get to learn alot of things but it will be better with some more practical knowledge. Practical and field work will definitely make this course better.

Bengali is my mother toung and that's why I love this subject. I want to know extra more intensity about this language and that's the main reason to choose bengali for my Graduation. College accross the window

Likes

Faculty and the Department. The teacher of the department works as a team that includes students and give them a friendly environment to work in. It enriches the morals and learnings as well.
The environment is very calm and supportive. Seniors are as helpful as the should be and the campus is ragging free. These is no space for student harrasment.
There are lifts and air conditioning accessibility which helps to be stable during any emergency.

Dislikes

No drinking water facility. Students have mentioned this issue even before and maintenance are being renewed.
No canteen which means students have to suffer to get food and have to travel a distance for lunch.
Unclean washrooms are the major problem which we face .

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course (English Honours) is a very rich and beneficial course that makes you absolutely aware of literature. The faculty is an excellent one. Teachers are highly appreciated for their professional skills and are very vulnerable towards the students. The department consists of professors who have done their PhD and postdocs. Exams occur in between regular intervals and the exams are based in standard mode. A student needs to prepare well for passing.
