Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Medical College (PDUMC), Rajkot, is a notable Government aided college and hospital in Gujarat. PDUMC is located in Rajkot, a city that was founded in 1995, is affiliated with Saurashtra University, Rajkot and approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). PDUMC offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, (MBBS) and (MD/MS), respectively. The Directorate also runs a MBBS program ( 150 seats )as well as postgraduate programs in the various subject areas including Anatomy, Surgery, Anesthesia, Psychiatry, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Forensic and Skin, and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

MBBS (UG):

  • Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology & English.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate (40% for reserved categories).

  • Selection based on NEET UG score followed by counselling.

MD/MS (PG):

  • Must possess an MBBS degree with minimum 50% marks.

  • Selection based on NEET PG rank and All India Quota counselling.

  • Candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and J&K are not eligible for 50% All India Quota seats.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Medical College offers MBBS on the basis of marks/ rank secured by the candidate in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by CBSE. Students who have passed 10+2 in science stream with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology. Also, candidates are required to obtain a minimum percentage of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology combined.

Candidates aspiring for admission to the MBBS courses offered by PDUMC can apply through CBSE NEET website. Only online mode of application and fee payment is available for the interested candidates. Candidates who have qualified the entrance test are required to attend counselling conducted by the board where the seats are allotted on the basis of NEET score. 

Note: Candidates who have studied from the Foreign/International Board must ensure that the qualifying examination passed by them matches in scope and standard with Indian universities.

  • NEET PG candidates may choose between Forenoon or Afternoon session for the entrance test as suitable.

For MD/MS (PG via NEET PG)

  1. Visit the NEET PG registration portal.

  2. Create a profile using personal & academic details.

  3. Upload scanned photograph and signature.

You have to crack NEET Exam to take admission in MBBS which is conducted by NTA every year. Then Results come and the process starts at the individual government level to take admission in government quota(GQ) seats and at the India level to take All India quota(AIQ) seats. All students get All India rank and State rank according to their marks. In counselling, you have to submit all documents at the respective colleges of your areas and after counselling you get admission according to your ranks. EWS, OBS, SC, ST People get their reservation and can get admission at lower marks which should not be present in the education system

I took an entrance exam in Neet to qualify for a government medical College. I had prepared for three years in a private institute gurukripa couching Sikar. The application form for neet was simple it required information on the 10th, and 12th marksheet, adhar card information and a passport-size photo and signature. The application form cost 1500. One can find the application form on the NTA website. Addmission process was too time-consuming.

Admission to this university is through a very reputed and known exam called NEET UG. Every candidate has to give this exam and needs to score well in this exam. NTA conducts the exam every year in the first week of May and the details can be availed from the official website of NTA NEET.
