Dhing College was established in 1965 to impart higher education in the western part of the Nagaon District and northern part of the Morigaon District of Assam. It is situated 150 KM from headquarters of Gauhati University. The region in which the college is situated is predominantly agricultural and rural. The college, aided by the Government of Assam, is affiliated to Gauhati University. The College offers under graduate degree courses in Arts and Science. The College has started vocational courses permitted by the University and the UGC
