MIMER is a reputed Medical College and Hospital located in Talegaon Dabhade, Pune. It currently offers MBBS and MD/MS programs to eligible candidates in various disciplines of medicine and surgery. The current intake for the MBBS program is 150 seats. All programs offered by the institute are recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

It was established in 1995 by MAEER’s (Maharashtra Academy of Engineering Education and Research) MIT Pune. Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research was originally affiliated to the University of Pune, but it is now under Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

  • Candidates meeting the requisite eligibility criteria for the MBBS program may apply through NEET UG only.
  • Candidates seeking admission to MS/ MD courses can apply through NEET PG by visiting the respective Board’s website.
  • Only online mode of application is allowed for both UG and PG courses. Payment of application fee can be made through online payment modes only. 
  • Candidates seeking admission to MBBS course must pass 10+2 with English as a mandatory subject and secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology combined.
  • MD/ MS aspirants must mandatorily possess an MBBS degree to be eligible. 
  • MBBS candidates are selected based on marks obtained in NEET UG.
  • MS/ MD candidates are selected based on score obtained in NEET PG.

Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research MBBS Admission 2026

MIMER offers MBBS degree program to eligible candidates seeking admission to undergraduate level medical programs in Pune, Maharashtra. The basis eligibility criteria for admission to the program is a pass in 10+2 in science stream with English as a subject, and minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology combined.

Selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks/ rank secured by the candidate in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET- UG) followed by counselling conducted by Director of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Maharashtra. Candidates seeking admission to the MBBS courses program offered by MIMER can apply through NEET UG by visiting the CBSE-NEET website.

Key Points for MBBS Admission:

  • B.Sc. candidates with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology are eligible to apply for the MBBS program.
  • Marks obtained in Mathematics are not considered for admission to MBBS courses.
  • Candidates who have studied from the Foreign/International Board must ensure that the qualifying examination passed by them matches in scope and standard with Indian universities.

Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research MD, MS Admission 2026

MIMER offers postgraduate level medical courses under MS and MD degrees. The institute currently offers 4 MS programs and 7 MD specializations. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is an MBBS degree with 50% marks. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks/ rank scored by the candidate in NEET PG.

Candidates aspiring for admission to any of the MS/ MD courses offered by MIMER are allotted seats through DMER counselling subject to qualifying NEET PG. Only online mode of application and fee-payment is allowed by the NEET Board.

Key Points:

  • Candidates must apply under NEET PG All India 50% Quota Seats only.
  • Candidates who have studied/passed MBBS from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir are not eligible for All India 50% Quota seats.

Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research Application Process 2026

The process of application through NEET UG for admission to UG courses is as follows:

  • Candidates applying through NEET can do so through online mode of application only. No offline application is accepted by the Board.
  • The Information Bulletin can be downloaded from the official website.
  • Applicants must go through the instructions carefully before filling up the form.
  • Candidates must keep his/her Aadhar Card handy at the time of filling the application form. Aadhar number is required to ascertain accuracy of the candidate’s details and also to verify the identity of the candidate at the examination center.
  • Candidates must ensure that mobile numbers, e-mail ID filled in the online Application form are correct and accessible.
  • Once the online application form is duly filled, candidates must proceed with fee payment in order to complete the application process. The application fee can be remitted using a credit/debit card, net-banking/UPI or E-wallets.
  • Candidates must retain copies of the printout of the Confirmation Page and proof of fee paid as reference for future correspondence.
  • The candidates must download the Admit Card for the entrance examination from the NEET website as scheduled.
  • Qualifying candidates must register for DMER counselling for allotment of seats by visiting the respective website.

Candidates seeking admission to any of the PG programs offered by MIEMR can apply through NEET PG. The process of application for the same is as follows:

  • Sign up for NEET PG Registration by visiting NBE official site and clicking on the “Register for NEET-PG” link. 
  • Candidate must furnish valid and authentic contact information. Also, scanned copies of photograph and signature will require to be uploaded. 
  • Once candidate has successfully created the profile, he/she will be taken to the exam selection screen. In order to register for NEET-PG, candidate must select “National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test- Post Graduate (NEET-PG)” option from the drop-down menu.
  • Candidates are further required to select test sites and schedule the test as per their convenient timing choosing from the two session options.
  • The application fee for NEET PG for General candidates is INR 3750. SC/ST candidates are required to pay INR 2750 only. Payment of fees can be made through online mode of payment only.
