short answer — no, 200-300 NEET score is not enough for KMC Manipal even with payment. and here's the important bit most people miss:
KMC Manipal doesn't have a traditional management quota. 100% of seats go through MCC Deemed University counselling based purely on NEET merit. you can't just walk in with money and get a seat. the general category management quota cutoff at KMC is around NEET score 590-640+. with 200-300 you won't make it through regular admission.
the only route at 200-300 is the NRI quota — which is a completely different track, costs heavily in USD (~$20,000-25,000/year), and has strict documentation requirements (proof of NRI status for parent/close relative).
please be careful of agents who say they can get you a KMC Manipal MBBS seat with 200-300 marks for a lump sum payment. this is a well-known scam — they take money and disappear. all admissions are centralized through MCC and there's no backdoor. if you're scoring 200-300, focus on improving NEET score or look at state govt colleges where reserved category cutoffs are more accessible.

- Embryology : Inderbir Singh
- Neuroanatomy : Snell (For Neuroanat).
For second year-
- Pathology: Robbin’s (This is the only book you need for this subject).
- Microbiology: Ananthanarayan(Fungus, Virus and Immunology is really good).
- Pharmacology : Tripathi (Massive, but required for entrance); Shanbag (only to pass).
- Forensic Medicine and Toxicology : Pillai (Really good book on this subject).
For third year-
- Community Medicine : Park
- Ophthalmology: Khurana (Last minute study)

For fourth year:

As a student of KMC Manipal, I will list down some reasons for choosing this college-
- The quality of education at KMC Manipal is at par with other top medical colleges of India.
- It has a very good infrastructure, even better than PGI which is an elite institution.
- You’ll get studious peers and dedicated faculty over here. Other than the curriculum, you’ll also be taught about all the latest developments in medicine.
- You’ll get good clinical exposure.
- KMC Manipal encourages undergraduate research. You can publish papers as a UG student too.
- The college has good foreign exchange programs.
- Your seniors will guide you on USMLE and PLAB.
- The coursework and teaching methodology is top-notch. With proper attention in class and routine revisions, you can get into AIIMS for your PG. Even for coaching, DAMS and Bhatia Classes are available near the campus. They hold weekend classes so your college studies won’t be affected.

But there are some disadvantages too-
Manipal is very expensive, and the PG seats are even more expensive. Getting a PG seat is very difficult because of extremely high competition.
You should choose KMC Manipal over an above average government college. But make sure you are fine with the above listed disadvantages.

You may work on 100+ cases during your OPD days. You’ll also get to see how differently government and private hospitals work.
- Mangalore has all the travel facilities- flight, bus, train, and even ship.
- You can access malls, good restaurants and other such luxuries in Mangalore.
- The Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations are worth waiting for.
Advantages of KMC Manipal-
- It has a state-of-the-art library.
- You’ll enjoy campus life, and meet students from different countries and streams (Engineering, Hotel Management, Visual Media, etc).
- KMC Manipal is a much bigger brand.
I really had an amazing time at KMC Mangalore. If you want more clinical exposure, stay at KMC Mangalore. The theory classes are at par in both. As a KMC student, if you are among the top 8 for the first 2 years, you’ll get the opportunity to attend a month-long externship in the Netherlands.
I have been allotted KMC Manipal but I can't get over the guilt that I did not get selected in a government medical college with many attempts being taken. How can I get over this?
You must be feeling this way because of societal pressure. But KMC Manipal is an amazing college, and you’ll really like it here.
Some of my classmates left their AIIMS seats (not AIIMS Delhi though) to study at KMC Manipal. I agree that in comparison to government colleges, the fee at KMC Manipal is quite high (if you don’t get a scholarship). However, you’ll get all the top facilities in exchange for that. I know of successful medicos who graduated from this place.
AIIMS Delhi and KMC increase your chances of qualifying USMLE drastically. KMC Manipal has a favorable reputation in foreign universities. The faculty over here is quite good. The library, sports, and other facilities are all top-notch. Another good thing is the complete absence of reservations.
So you shouldn’t be disheartened because of all that you couldn’t get. Instead, make the most out of the opportunities available to you.

Even though I couldn’t get into KMC Manipal, it is my dream college.
It doesn’t offer a state quota for admissions. You have to apply through AIQ. The course fee is quite high. However, you’ll get a scholarship if your AIR is less than 2000.
The infrastructure of KMC Manipal is quite good. Karnataka is a peaceful state, so the location is good as well. It is a top private medical college in India, after CMC Vellore. The college library is huge and filled with all the facilities. The hostels and classrooms are in good condition, and your fee will be totally worth it.
You should definitely consider KMC Manipal for your MBBS.
What is the total MBBS course fees in KMC, Manipal?
For the batch of 2023-24, the first installment is Rs.17.80 Lakhs. The remaining installments add up to Rs. 70,88,500. This includes tuition and other fees.
So, for your medical degree, you’ll be paying around Rs. 88,68,500. This is for Indian students. You will be paying the fees in 5 installments. You’ll also be paying a caution deposit of Rs.10,000 (refundable). For girls’ hostels, the cost is Rs. 1,30,500 per year, and for boys’ hostels, it is Rs. 1,25,500 per year.
