CCMB, Hyderabad is an Indian fundamental life science research center established in the year 1977 and situated in Hyderabad, Telangana that operates under the aegis of the Council of Scientific and Industrial research.
It is designated as ‘Centre of Excellence’ by the Global Molecular and Cell Biology Network, UNESCO. CCMB is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (JNU).

Selection Process
- Applications will be shortlisted online and the eligible candidates will be called for a computer based written test at one of their preferred centers among the 19 test centers.
- Applicants qualifying in the written test and having a valid fellowship for pursuing a Ph.D. will be shortlisted to appear for an interview at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology.
- Applicants qualifying both preliminary exams and the final interview will be selected for pursuing a Ph.D. at CCMB.

It is easy to get admission in this college. I got admission in this college on the basis of GATE exam marks. A candidate should have at least 80% percentile in GATE exam to be eligible for getting admission in this college.

I got admission in this college on the basis of a Bachelor's degree in engineering. All the candidates who have a Masters degree or Bachelor's degree can get admission in this university. Also, the candidate with at least 85 percentile in the GATE exam can also get admission in this university.

In my case, I barely made it with a 86% score in the GATE examinations. The candidate appearing for the examinations must have a Master's degree in any of the science subjects or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. In my case, I did it through Mastery in Physics.

I found this college when I was searching for short training courses in molecular cloning and protein expression. Since there were very few colleges providing this course, I immediately applied to the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology.

I wanted to apply for a PhD in modern biology in an institute which is closer to home. This is why I applied in Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology. I already knew that it was a very well known research centre in the state and fully prepared myself to crack the interview in one go.

This college exercises the same admission methods like other entrance-based institutes. As I had completed my graduation in the relevant field, I just had to sit for and entrance which is JGEEBILS. As I qualified the exam, I got admission here.
