Visveswarapura Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Bangalore Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Visveswarapura Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (VIPS) offers B.Pharm at the UG level with an intake of 60 seats. The institute also offers Lateral Entry admissions directly into the 2nd year of B.Pharm.

The eligibility criterion is 10+2 examination with a minimum aggregate of 40% marks in subjects of Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Diploma holders in Pharmacy are eligible to apply for Lateral Entry.

Admission to 4-year B.Pharm and Lateral Entry B.Pharm is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

Key Points:

• Candidates admitted to 1st-year B.Pharm on the basis of marks secured in PCB or PCM scores will be required to study additional subjects of Introduction to Mathematics or Biology.
• Candidates who get admission to Lateral Entry B.Pharm will be required to study additional subjects of Statistics, Computer Science and Mathematics along with other usual subjects of the course.
• Candidates should have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31 at the time of admission.
• All candidates whether belonging to India or Foreign fulfilling the eligibility criteria are eligible for admission.

VIPS Bangalore offers M.Pharm is 5 specializations with an intake of total 74 seats. The minimum eligibility to apply is a B.Pharm degree with 55% marks.

Admission is granted on the basis of valid score in the entrance test conducted by RGUHS.

Key Points:

• Candidates who have done B.Pharm degree from RGUHS will be given first preference.
• Those who have acquired a degree in pharmacy which is recognized equivalent by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education or RGUHS University are eligible for admission.
•  Candidatures who have a 4-year professional experience as Pharmacy Teachers are eligible for admission provided they too fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed for the program.

VIPS offers Ph.D. in Pharmacy at the doctoral level. The institute also offers a 3-year Pharm.D along with a 6-year Pharm.D PB (Post Baccalaureate) courses with 30 and 40 seats respectively.

For Ph.D., candidates must have a Master’s degree in the relevant field to be eligible. For Pharm.D, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Mathematics / Biology as an optional subject. Candidates applying for Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) must have a B.Pharm degree to be considered eligible.

Admission to Ph.D. is done on the basis of score in Ph.D. Entrance Test conducted by RGUHS. Pharm.D admission is based on the rules of PCI, whereas Pharm.D (PB) admission is based on the performance in the entrance conducted by RGUHS.
