I am not a huge fan of having to take courses from all aspects of business, such as management, Human Resources, organizational behaviour, marketing, social context of business, etc. I am a numbers person so taking courses with little to no numbers or formulas significantly lowers my averages and CGPA
The fee structure is good, students receiving OSAP get an extended deadline to pay. There are a few fees you can opt out of. There are numerous internal scholarships available that students can apply for as well as numerous scholarships awarded to students without the need to apply for them. The university also offers a merit scholarship
I think it is extremely well-formed because I can choose from 3 specializations after first-year. This means I have a say in the curriculum I will study.
The tuition fees were due August 27th and September 27th for students with OSAP. There were numerous scholarships available through the eurozone portal which anyone could apply for however somewhere specific to international students of francophones. For my program, the tuition fees were about $7,500. On average it was the same as other schools for the faculty of science.
The curriculum was okay, but some of the profs teaching courses weren't the best. There were two different streams of communications that you could choose to focus on along the way, which was a nice option to have.
Tuition was the main charge that increased every year, unfortunately. Textbook prices were also quite high, especially through the university library.
For my specific program, I like that the course structure is relatively more open as you go into your upper years. I have a wide variety of courses to choose from which usually has multiple class timings.
The fees were pretty standard. For a political science student, around $3,000 CAD per semester. You can see a full breakdown of the fees online on your student account.
My courses are very engaging and require some great problem thinking. I am happy with the challenges and sometimes it may seem super heavy but the satisfaction I derive once I finished a semester is unparalleled.
I chose this school because they had preferential fees for taking the french stream and it being in Ottawa also helped. Being bilingual myself, being in a school that breathes such value appealed to me.
