- Douglas creates a safe and inclusive environment for all students from diverse countries. It welcomes individuals with an amazing orientation which is very insightful and helpful.
- It has amazing services including counselling and accessibility services for all its students.
Dislikes
- However, Douglas College doesn't have a placement cell. It does have a Career Centre with expert Career Coaches who will guide and help one prepare their resume and cover letter. However, I didn't find a lot of finance specific jobs on their job board based out of Vancouver. They had good jobs in Marketing but not in Finance. Accounting jobs were available but very few.
Campus Life
Campus life at Douglas College is really exciting with a lot of extra-curricular events happening all-round the year. Events like Friday Hangouts and Slice of Summer happen on bi-weekly basis giving students an opportunity to connect with new individuals and make new friends. Douglas College International organizes plenty of events like hiking to Lynn Canyon Valley, visits to Burnaby Pumpkin Festival and Queen Elizabeth Park every semester. The library is huge with access to computers for student access, textbooks for borrowing, calculators and even research books. All students have free access to wifi on all the floors everywhere on the campus. Douglas has its own basketball and volleyball team wherein students can be a part of it.
Accommodation
Douglas College is working towards creating affordable housing options for its domestic and international students. This will be probably completed by 2025/ 2026. However, when I was studying, I like most students was staying on a rental basis in a basement wherein one room can cost anywhere between 700 CAD to 1,000 CAD. If only looking for a room on a sharing basis, rent can be anywhere between 500 CAD to 800 CAD. I have lived in an apartment wherein I had a private room and private bathroom with shared kitchen and shared living room (hall) which costed me 1,300 CAD. All the rent prices are based on a monthly basis. One can also evaluate housing options by staying in homestays with host families. For housing options, check Facebook marketplace, kijiji, craiglist, Homestay websites.

- We have to walk alot to reach to college as the way is too steep
Campus Life
Very good campus life . Many facilities like clubs , gym , games like pool and snooker and many events
Accommodation
I am living on rent in basement in Vancouver and the rent is also very costly about 600 canadian dollars and the hours of work is also 20 hour which make makes me difficult to manage my income as the expenses are larger than income
Campus Life
We have some activities but not that much. They try their bust but iguess not everyone is available
Accommodation
We don't have on campus accomodation. They are making it available in the coming years

- Students are from different countries and background. Various facilities are provided to students like free transit card, free gym membership, free tutoring to the students who are facing difficulty in some subjects.
- Course structure really intrigued me and it was covering various courses on data analytics.
Dislikes
- Some of the faculty members are rather arrogant and fail to understand the difficult situation of students. Especially, in computer science department.
- If a student is failing from half a mark, they don't even consider their case or recheck the examination. It takes $2000 to repeat a course. Retaking a course costs $2000, and occasionally the grade is reduced even further if a student requests a recheck of the test.
Campus Life
Douglas College offers a vibrant campus life with various clubs and organizations catering to diverse interests. Students can engage in cultural events, sports tournaments, and leadership development programs. The college provides well-equipped research facilities, libraries with extensive resources, reliable WiFi connectivity, and sports facilities to support a well-rounded student experience. But still I think campus life in India was much better than here because we have to manage our work along with the studies and then there are a lot of assignments and projects to do.
Accommodation
Students find their own accommodation. Average rent in Vancouver for private room is 900 CAD and in Surrey 700 CAD.

- Douglas College is one of the few colleges in Canada that focus on education and therefore they keep lesser seats available in a batch.
- Even though campus is small, still there are a lot of activities students can do and participate in . Also, Most of the instructors are very corporative. Student in the college belong to diverse culture therefore you will find yourself surrounded with mix of people.
Dislikes
- Instructors are nice but they wont teach you in-depth. Most of the finance topic are not new at all , you would have studied in your bachelors. They won't teach you how to do valuations of businesses so look at the topics before applying.
Campus Life
There are numerous clubs one can join from sports to indoor games to cultural groups. Campus is small so sports usually take place at different venues. College is well equipped with good wi-fi . Student council is very active in listening to student issues and hence keep on upgrading the campus facilities. For eg: recently they added pads in the women washroom and gender neutral washroom .
Accommodation
Campus is small and therefore they do not offer any accommodation.
Campus Life
It was Covid
Accommodation
I rented out a basement suite close to the college. It costs close to 1100 a month for your stay with your basic expenses My roommates used to cook for me so that was a plus but yes learn to cook before coming as an international student. Would recommend this college to a domestic student for sure. But for international things can get a bit tedious.
Campus Life
Very decent, I was doing my courses online for half of the program because of Covid.
Accommodation
I lived in three places throughout my education. The first was a two month accommodation in a 2BHK, in Burnaby, with a roommate, where I paid $825 for the room. The second was also a room (smaller) in a house, in Surrey, where I paid $550, and currently I live in a room (large room with a porch) in a house in Vancovuer, where I pay $750.
Accommodation
There are two options renting a apartment or a basement, renting a basement is much more affordable and yes pretty much everyone shares room until you want to live in college facility which is very expensive
I have heard good feedback about the college and especially about the instructors. Apart from this it was convenient for me to travel as it was near by the place i was living
Accommodation
Our college was on a hill and there was a sky train station which helped us get through the college. Though it would help to have had something to help us get up the college from the hill. There was no off campus hostel.
Good Reputation school. With two different campus and so many good programs. I had a variety of classes and programs. The teachers were good and the cafe was excellent. It is a very diverse college with students coming from all corners of the world.
Douglas College is much more adorable which is better in an economic way of thinking and they have smaller class sizes which make it easier for the teacher to help and communicate directly with each and every student.
