Yes it does. University of Newcastle have campus jobs like student engagement officer, library staff, Pass session leaders (a session for students to learn from their peers), and many more. As an international student, you are limited to 20 hours per week as part time. And university does have a careers centre for students to provide guidance in the job prospects and building their profile, cover letter and resume to best fit the job description.

Placement opportunities are good mostly at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle but in later years give opportunities for rural and international placements. Many staff gave to supervise also did this course.

Good program, relatively close to home. I only got into two options for medicine, one of which was Adelaide which is a plane trip away for me. Newcastle (while it is 5 hours away) was closer and provided a city close to that of my hometown (Canberra). The program is also highly regarded, I think it's the 3rd best program in Australia and I like the learning structure.

Location- close to home and I can't afford to live out of home, the quality of education is high, and most courses have high employment rates after graduation. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities are of high quality.

Since becoming eligible for casual teaching 4 months ago, I have had one day of casual teaching work. I have done some training through the teachers federation to extend my knowledge. I am hoping for more casual work over the winter terms.

Yes. We had 2 practicals and 2 internships. Pracs in 2nd and 3rd-year uni teaching for 4 weeks - this was our first experience in a classroom. My Classroom Teacher on my second practical did not want a student. She openly complained about needing to have me in front of all the staff (including me). I was left alone with the students regularly (uni policy states this should not happen until the internship). My internships were fantastic. The teachers were very supportive. I had a uni supervisor who was very helpful in guiding the improvement required. I have no idea what stipend is.
