The University of Notre Dame Australia Application Deadlines for Indian Students

The University of Notre Dame Australia operates on a two-semester academic calendar. Dates below are per the official Notre Dame international applicants page.

The University of Notre Dame Australia’s primary intake for Indian students is Semester 1 (February), when most undergraduate and postgraduate programs open. A smaller Semester 2 (July) intake is available for selected courses.

Notre Dame does not charge an application fee for international applicants on either intake. Direct application via the university’s online portal is the most common route for Indian students. For Year 12 equivalent UG admissions only, Universities Admissions Centre (UAC International) is also an accepted channel.

Planning note: Indian applicants targeting February 2027 should submit by 30 November 2026 to leave roughly 10 weeks for offer acceptance, deposit, eCoE issue, and student visa grant before classes commence.

The University of Notre Dame Australia Admissions Eligibility for Indian Students

The University of Notre Dame Australia eligibility for Indian applicants combines academic thresholds with English language proficiency. Both must be satisfied for an unconditional offer. The university recognises Indian Class XII boards (CBSE, ICSE, and state boards) and Indian bachelor’s degrees from UGC-recognised institutions.

  • UG general entry: Class XII at 65 percent or higher (roughly ATAR 70 equivalent)
  • UG Nursing: Class XII at 70 percent with English and a Science subject
  • UG Law: Class XII at 75 percent (selective program, higher cut-off)
  • UG Physiotherapy and Biomedical Science: Class XII at 75 percent with Chemistry and Biology
  • PG taught masters: Recognised bachelor’s degree, generally 55 to 60 percent in a related field
  • PG research: Bachelor’s with honours or master’s with a research component, minimum 65 percent

The University of Notre Dame Australia accepts the following English proficiency tests for general UG admission, with verified institution-wide minimums:

  • IELTS Academic: 6.0 overall, no band below 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT: 73 overall
  • PTE Academic: 50 overall
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency: accepted at equivalent level
  • OET: accepted for health science programs only

Discipline-specific minimums override the general floor. Nursing requires IELTS Academic 7.0 overall with no band below 7.0. Education requires IELTS 7.5 overall with minimum 8.0 in listening and speaking. Law sets the bar at TOEFL iBT 105 with minimum 28 in writing. Test results must be obtained within two years of course commencement.

The University of Notre Dame Australia IELTS Waiver for Indian Students

Notre Dame Australia recognises an English language waiver only where the applicant has completed at least six years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed solely in English in Australia or in a recognised English-medium country. India is not on the university’s recognised country list at the school level, so most Indian applicants must submit IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or OET.

Indian applicants who have completed an entire bachelor’s degree taught and assessed in English at an institution where English is the sole medium of instruction may be considered for a waiver on a case-by-case basis. A formal letter from the institution confirming medium of instruction is required.

The University of Notre Dame Australia MBA Eligibility

The University of Notre Dame Australia MBA Fees and Intakes

Indicative MBA tuition runs about AUD 35,000 to 40,000 per year (around INR 22.91 to 26.18 Lakhs) for international students, with the full 12-course program totalling around AUD 52,500 to 60,000 (about INR 34.37 to 39.28 Lakhs). For scholarship coverage, see the dedicated scholarships page. Application is via Notre Dame’s direct application portal with no application fee.

Reality check: Notre Dame Australia’s MBA is access-oriented compared with elite Australian MBAs. Indian applicants without two years of work experience can apply to the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration first, then articulate into the MBA after completion.

The University of Notre Dame Australia PhD Admissions for Indian Students

The University of Notre Dame Australia awards the Doctor of Philosophy across its Schools of Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Health Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Philosophy and Theology, and Physiotherapy. Most candidates work full-time over three to four years on a defined research project under one principal supervisor and one co-supervisor.

The University of Notre Dame Australia PhD Eligibility

Indian applicants need a master’s degree with a substantial research component, or a bachelor’s degree with honours at first or upper second class (Indian equivalent: bachelor’s with honours at 65 to 70 percent). A research proposal, two academic referees, and a willing supervisor must be secured before formal application. English requirement is IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0.

The University of Notre Dame Australia PhD Funding

Notre Dame Australia participates in the Australian Government’s Research Training Program (RTP), which can cover tuition fees and provide a living stipend for selected candidates. International candidates compete in a smaller annual pool, with the principal supervisor’s endorsement being a critical factor. For external scholarship options, the Endeavour and Australia Awards programs are open to Indian PhD candidates.

The University of Notre Dame Australia Application Process for Indian Students

Notre Dame Australia uses a four-stage international application process. Direct application is the standard route for Indian students, and the university also engages a network of approved education agents who can lodge applications on the student’s behalf at no extra cost.

  1. Check eligibility: confirm academic and English minimums for your chosen program on the official course page
  2. Prepare documents: certified transcripts, degree certificate, IELTS score report, passport copy, statement of purpose
  3. Submit application: lodge via the Notre Dame international application portal with no application fee charged
  4. Receive assessment outcome: usually within 2 to 4 weeks via email
  5. Accept the offer: sign and return the acceptance form, pay the tuition deposit
  6. Receive eCoE: the electronic Confirmation of Enrolment lets you apply for the student visa
  7. Apply for Subclass 500 visa via the Australian Department of Home Affairs immi portal
  8. Enrol and arrive in time for orientation week before semester start

The University of Notre Dame Australia Admission Decisions

An outcome arrives via email as one of two letters. An Unconditional Offer confirms you have met all entry requirements. A Conditional Offer lists specific conditions (typically a pending IELTS score or final transcript) you must satisfy before the offer becomes unconditional. Offers are usually valid for three months, and a one-semester deferral is normally permitted on written request.

The University of Notre Dame Australia Documents Required for Indian Students

Indian applicants should assemble the document set below before opening the online application. Scanned colour copies in PDF are sufficient at application stage. Certified hard copies may be required at offer acceptance and on arrival.

  • Passport bio page with at least two years’ validity remaining
  • Class XII (Year 12) marksheet and passing certificate, certified true copies
  • Bachelor’s transcripts and degree certificate for PG applicants, with credit-level breakdown
  • English test score report (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, or OET) within validity
  • Statement of purpose of 500 to 800 words outlining course choice and career goals
  • Two letters of recommendation, academic for UG and academic or professional for PG
  • Updated curriculum vitae for PG and MBA applicants
  • Work experience letters on employer letterhead for MBA, Counselling, Social Work applicants
  • Research proposal and supervisor’s endorsement for PhD applicants
  • Medium of instruction letter if claiming an English waiver via bachelor’s degree
  • Financial capacity declaration showing funds for first-year tuition plus living costs

Notre Dame does not require an application photograph at the lodgement stage. Original document verification is performed during eCoE issuance.

The University of Notre Dame Australia Acceptance Rate for Indian Students

The University of Notre Dame Australia does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Third-party estimates place the institution-wide acceptance rate at around 70 to 85 percent, based on the university’s access-oriented admission model that admits most applicants who meet stated academic and English requirements. The ranking band page provides additional positioning context.

The University of Notre Dame Australia Acceptance Rate by Programme

Selectivity varies sharply by discipline. Doctor of Medicine is the most competitive program, with admission requiring GAMSAT, multiple-mini-interview, and demonstrated service experience. Law, Physiotherapy, and Nursing use higher academic cut-offs (75 to 80 percent equivalent) and capped intakes, so practical acceptance for these courses sits closer to 30 to 50 percent.

How Indian Applicants Improve Their Odds

For Indian applicants, the path to a confident offer is hitting the published academic and English minimum cleanly, then strengthening the statement of purpose with course-specific motivation. Applying early in the cycle (May to August for the February intake) also helps, since selective programs fill on a rolling basis well before the November cut-off.

Insider note: The published 70 to 85 percent figure masks wide variance. Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Arts admit close to 90 percent of eligible applicants; Bachelor of Physiotherapy and the Doctor of Medicine reject the majority of applicants even when minimums are met.

Australia Student Visa for The University of Notre Dame Australia Applicants

Indian students enrolling at The University of Notre Dame Australia apply for the Subclass 500 Student Visa through the Australian Department of Home Affairs ImmiAccount portal. Visa lodgement is only possible after you accept the offer, pay the tuition deposit, and receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) from Notre Dame.

The visa application requires a Genuine Student (GS) statement, evidence of financial capacity covering one year of tuition plus living costs (Australia’s published threshold is around AUD 29,710 or about INR 19.45 Lakhs as a benchmark), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the full course duration, and a biometrics appointment at a VFS centre in India. The current visa application charge is AUD 2,000 (around INR 1.31 Lakhs), payable to the Australian government, separate from any Notre Dame fees.

2026 update: Indian applicants are placed in Assessment Level 1 for Notre Dame Australia, which means a streamlined evidentiary requirement. Typical processing time runs 4 to 8 weeks once a complete application is lodged.
