Colleges Where I Was Accepted
Reason for choosing my college
- The reason for choosing Monash was purely based on the university's ranking. Monash is ranked 37th in the world according to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. In addition to this, comparing the course structure with other universities, the Monash course structure is more advanced. The way the course is designed covers beginners to advanced skills.
Colleges Where I Was Rejected
Reason for Rejection
- I have taken the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) home-based test. But the university required TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)-based. So my application was on hold as my English test mode was not accepted by the university.

Tips to enhance your application
- Clearly explain your background and future focus in your SOP.
- Highlight your academic achievements and professional experience, if any.
- Higher previous academic performance and professional experience can help you get a higher scholarship grant. Adding your family background and financial status can help you get scholarship.
Admission Experience
- Monash University's course structure is designed really well compared to other universities. Monash's outstanding academic programs, pioneering research opportunities, strong industry links, and a supportive, diverse community make it an unparalled choice for pursuing any course.
- My overall experience with academics, extracurricular activities, student life, campus and clubs is exceptional.
Class Schedule
- Eight classes are usually scheduled in a week. 2 classes per unit, namely an applied class and workshop for a semester.
- Class timings are not constant. They vary. You have to select the classes by enrolling yourself in each class in the available time slots. There can be 10–70 students per slot.
- In my course, almost 30% are Indians. Apart from the classes, it is better to spend at least 20–24 hours per week on self-study and assignments.
Faculty
- Faculty are available during the classes and in the scheduled consultations. You have to book consultations based on the tutor's availability to meet them regarding any academic inquiries.
- Faculty of IT are best at Monash University, as they are available almost all the time via consultations online or on campus. Do not rely on faculties for jobs.
Campus Life
- There are 4 campuses of Monash University in Melbourne itself. Libraries, sports, medical, clubs, fitness, food, etc. are available on every campus. There are plenty of them. Study rooms, presentation and breakout rooms are available for smooth studies.
- Student hubs are available with all the facilities for students to study 24/7.
- Monash Clayton campus has Wednesday sessions that happen every Wednesday, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, where students gather to relax and enjoy some snacks and music organised by the university.
Part Time Jobs
- Fuel stations pay you max 30 dollars per hour. Restaurants pay up to $20 per hour. Retail stores pay up to $35 per hour. Fuel station jobs are easy to get and work as well but security issues.
- Indian restaurants pay very little and too much work. Retail stores are good pay and low work but hard to get. Initially, it is better to do whatever you get comfortable doing rather than waiting for something else.
- On campus, part-time opportunities are very low. Off-campus part-time jobs are very plentiful. You can get one easily within a month of your arrival if you try hard.
- 24 hours per week is the maximum time a student is allowed to work during the course period, and you can work full-time during your holidays.
Placement
- Full-time opportunities are all over Melbourne. If you have the correct visa, you can get one easily. As soon as a student gets a visa, it is better to apply for a TR to get job opportunities.
- With the right visas and references, you can land a job easily. Maintaining good network connections is very important to get references after your course.
Accommodation
- realestate.com to rent a whole property. Flatmates, Instagram communities, and Facebook groups for finding an accommodation. Be very careful while choosing one. Not all are as good as they seem to be. Do not pay before inspecting the property directly. Try to get a house in your language or nationality for easy living.
