JELET 2026 Exam Day Time Schedule

WBJEEB follows a strict gate-closing policy for all its examinations. For JELET 2026, the exam begins at 11:00 AM sharp, so students are expected to be present and seated well before that. The table below outlines the standard exam-day timeline — always cross-check the exact reporting time printed on your individual admit card, as it may vary slightly by exam centre.

Event Time
Gates Open — Students Start Entering 9:30 AM
OMR Sheets and Question Booklets Distributed 10:30 AM
Gate Closes (Entry Cutoff) 10:45 AM
Exam Begins 11:00 AM
Exam Ends — OMR Sheets Collected 1:00 PM

The gate closes exactly 15 minutes before the exam begins. Plan your commute so you reach the exam centre by 9:30 AM. Factor in traffic, parking, and the time needed for document verification at the main gate before you reach your allotted room.

Documents You Must Carry

Entry to the JELET 2026 exam hall requires both documents listed below. The absence of either will result in denial of entry — no exceptions are made at the gate.

Document Details
JELET 2026 Admit Card Printed copy (colour printout strongly recommended), downloaded from wbjeeb.nic.in/jelet using your application number and date of birth
Original Photo ID Proof Any one of: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Driving Licence, or Passport — original only, no photocopies accepted

Print the admit card on A4 paper in colour. The photograph on your admit card must clearly match your appearance on exam day. Invigilators will check both documents at the entry point and again inside the hall before distributing question booklets. Also carry two blue or black ball-point pens — these are the only writing instruments allowed for OMR filling.

Prohibited Items at the Exam Centre

No electronic device of any kind is allowed inside the JELET 2026 exam hall. Students found with prohibited items risk disqualification, even if those items are not in use during the exam. Leave all such items at home or in your vehicle.

Category Prohibited Items
Electronics Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth earphones, calculators, digital watches, tablets, laptops
Study Material Textbooks, notes, printed sheets, rough papers, log tables, formula booklets
Other Items Pencils, gel pens, correction fluid (whitener), metallic chains or accessories that may trigger security checks

Most JELET 2026 exam centres do not provide a storage area for confiscated items. If a prohibited item is found on you inside the hall, it may be seized and not returned until after the result process concludes.

Exam Hall Rules and OMR Instructions

WBJEEB publishes strict conduct rules in the JELET 2026 Information Bulletin. Read these before entering the hall — invigilators will not repeat instructions individually.

  • OMR sheet is your answer sheet. Fill in your roll number, question booklet series, and centre code using only a blue or black ball-point pen. No pencil, no gel pen.
  • No overwriting on OMR. If you enter the wrong roll number or booklet series, do not overwrite. Ask the invigilator immediately to strike through the error, rewrite the correct details, and countersign. Wrong entries that go uncorrected may lead to OMR rejection or wrong scoring — WBJEEB will not accept responsibility for errors made by the student.
  • Match booklet series first. Every question booklet carries a series code (such as A, B, C, or D). Confirm the series on your booklet and mark the same on the OMR sheet before attempting question 1.
  • Negative marking is 0.25. Each wrong answer deducts one-fourth of a mark. Leave a question blank if you are not confident — an unanswered question carries zero penalty.
  • Rough work inside the booklet only. Use only the designated rough-work pages in your question booklet. Do not write anything outside the answer circles on the OMR sheet.
  • No exit before 1:00 PM. Students are not permitted to leave the hall until the exam ends. Plan accordingly — no bathroom breaks are permitted once the exam begins.
  • OMR submission is mandatory. At 1:00 PM, stop writing immediately and hand the OMR sheet to the invigilator before leaving. You are permitted to take your question booklet home.

Ans. Use only a blue or black ball-point pen to fill in the OMR sheet. Pencils, gel pens, and markers are not permitted. Carry at least two pens as backup. If you make an error on the OMR, do not overwrite — ask the invigilator to strike through and countersign the correction immediately.
