Dr. Gautam Dua is the Principal of Agarwal Vidya Vihar English Medium College. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and has been teaching since 2010 at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Before joining academics, he worked with Media and Human Resource company. He has conducted over two dozen seminars on various trending topics also, delivered keynote speeches at multiple FDPs and MDPs. He has also delivered live lectures on Government Education Channel on television. 

Dr. Gautam is a recognized Ph.D. supervisor at VNSGU in Commerce / Management. He has more than a dozen of research papers to his credit published in various International and National journals including UGC Care. He has presented several research papers at international conferences in India and abroad and has two approved projects from IIMA under the CRMS grant. Dr Dua has authored and edited multiple books in the field of management and marketing. Other than academics, he also provides consultancy to MSME companies.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed significant challenges for various institutions worldwide, including educational institutions. The pandemic forced schools and universities to rapidly adapt to new modes of learning, such as remote or online education, to ensure the continuity of education while prioritizing the health and safety of students and staff. During this challenging time, implementing changes in the national education policy also added an additional layer of complexity. 

What are your thoughts on changes happening in the education industry over the past few years? 

The announcement of a new national education policy in 2020 and its subsequent application to colleges and institutes signifies a significant step towards enhancing the quality and relevance of education. The addition of vocational courses can offer students practical skills and knowledge that are directly applicable to the workforce. They can provide students with a competitive edge and equip them with the necessary skills to meet the demands of the job market. 

What is your philosophy of leadership in the Agarwal Vidya Vihar English Medium College? 

I believe leadership is not limited to a particular role or position; it can be nurtured and demonstrated by individuals at all levels of an organization, including students and staff members. It is a wonderful perspective to view all members of an institute as leaders. When students and staff members are seen as leaders, it promotes a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and personal growth within the institute.
