Dr. Annamaneni Sreelatha is the Dean of the School of Law of Woxsen University, Hyderabad. She completed her PhD in Law, and holds an LLM degree from Kakatiya University. Dr. Sreelatha has over 20 years of experience in the fields of Industrial and Labour law, Corporate and Commercial law, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Professional Ethics. She has over 54 Publications to her name and has participated, published, and hosted more than 60 conferences at National and International levels.

You held key positions at various prestigious institutions throughout your career. What is that one thing that made you excited and walk with Woxsen in the journey?

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of holding key positions at prestigious institutions. When I was approached by Woxsen to join their journey, there was one particular aspect that excited me the most. It was the opportunity to contribute to the establishment of their budding Law school and be part of designing a comprehensive law curriculum and education system. Woxsen's commitment to adhering to international models and meeting global requirements in legal education resonated with my passion for shaping the future of legal studies. This exciting prospect motivated me to embark on this new chapter and bring my expertise to Woxsen's dynamic and forward-thinking environment.

How do you balance the needs of faculty, students, and administration as a dean of a School of Law?

In my role as the Dean of a School of Law, I highly value initiatives and believe that my dynamic leadership, coupled with my rich experience, allows me to effectively listen to and represent the key stakeholders crucial to the institution’s success. I am committed to addressing their needs directly and am flexible in adapting to various situations. Effective leadership skills are at the core of my approach, and I constantly strive to create a happy and productive work environment that aligns with the vision and mission of the University.

As a Dean of the School of Law, what is the USP or what are the differentiating factors that make Woxsen stand out from other colleges?

We have numerous factors that sets us apart from other universities. We have world-class infrastructure and moot courts, and legal aid camps. We also provide training to students so that they can participate at national and international levels. We have international visiting faculties, students go for internships with top law firms and curriculum designed with various specializations that may not be available at all NLU’S and meet the needs globally.

How do you stay current with the latest trends and developments in the field of Law and incorporate them into the curriculum and programs offered by Woxsen?

Law is a dynamic career, and we hire faculty with high academic integrity from top national law universities. This helps us to employ various teaching methods and we ensure 40% of the course is covered by experts in their respective fields. We make sure to include simulation exercises, comparative analysis, case laws, presentations and capstone projects guided by various schools across the university.

At Woxsen University, we maintain discipline with zero per cent ragging cases and have continuous monitoring through our mentor system. We have created digitally equipped classrooms with sophisticated AI, Robotics, Communication labs, and access to e-resources for all.

How would you promote experiential learning and practical application of knowledge within the School of Law?

Practical and experiential learning is a part of the curriculum at Woxsen. Experiential learning is incorporated as internal and external criteria for assessment and through student participation in competitions, national and international moot courts, client counseling, mediation, judgment writing, case writing, contract drafting, trial advocacy, financial transactions, and law review.
